Five-O!

Most of you know by now that the Hubs is a police officer! He works midnights(DON’T even think you are about to come kidnap me or my babies. We have a Doberman and umpteen chickens, remember?) Once a month he has training during the day, so he is off work the night before. This happened last week. Peyton was sick and I had an alarm set on my phone for midnight so that I could check on him. Our room is pretty far from his so if he was sick I wouldn’t be able to hear him. When the alarm sounded it also woke Brooks up. Of course it did. I sat in bed for a second and then this crazy feeling came over me…something wasn’t right…something felt weird. I handed B off to the Hubs in bed and ran to check on Peyton. As I was walking down the hallway I could see headlights shining into the living room. We live off of the road and there is no way for this to happen unless someone is actually IN the driveway. I turned around to run and get Hubby when the doorbell rang!! Cue the freakin my freak!! And then a big KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK on the door!! This terrifies me!! I wake up Hubby and send him to figure it out. He walks out the front door and I went to the kitchen to turn off the alarm. As I was walking that way I saw a Sheriff’s Deputy walking towards the back of the house. I knew he saw me because our back doors are glass but at this point I was just letting Josh handle it. So I just stepped back in the living room…for all I knew they were searching for a murderer in the woods around our house. I was just standing there with B on my hip and I glanced back at the back doors and he was just standing there looking at me! FREAK MY FREAK. I ran over to the back door and he was all like, “Are you ok?” Um yes, other than you just scared the bejesus out of me! Then he said, “Where’s Josh??!!” I told him that he was in the front waiting on him and I asked what the heck was going on! Surely there was something major. “Josh was supposed to be at work an hour ago and they couldn’t get y’all to answer the phone so they sent me to check on y’all.” I explained that he had training the next day…he shook his head and went to talk to Officer Hubby.

Really.

I mean I am glad that they checked on him. I really am. But we were up for like 2 hours after that!

Someone dropped the ball on that one! But, thankfully, there were no murderers on the run that night! haha!

Little Injury

It’s a fact Jack! Officer Hubby + dogs at work=bad news!

I was fresh out of the shower when Hubby arrived home from work Sunday morning. He came into our bathroom to change and was like, “got bit by a dog last night.” All nonchalantly, like it was no big deal. In fact, he was smiling. I swear cops are weird like that. They thrive off of stuff like this. Of course I’m like “WHAT????” And immediately I’m a little pissed that no one called me. He told them not to because it was “no big deal”. Um, you got ATTACKED by a dog Lover. Maybe that’s not such a big deal to call and wake your pregnant wife at 3:00am and I know that was what he was thinking BUT I AM TERRIFIED that something really will happen to him and no one will call me!

Anyway.

He was just backing up someone and was standing outside the residence. The officers inside had already petted the dog and he seemed safe. The dog came outside and was sniffing around, saw Josh and went for him! Bit him on his left leg first, tearing his pants. Hubby went to draw his gun and was going to kick at the dog and tripped over a concrete landscape block and fell to the ground. At which time the dog took a CHUNK out of his right leg. There was another officer outside and somehow got the dogs attention, I’m not going to even put on here how & off the dog went. Eight stitches later and he’s limping around like me! We looked like some 90 year olds for a day or so! Supposedly the dog is up to date on all of it’s shots, but that is being verified!

Officer Hubby is doing just fine! And, hey, this is only his second injury in almost 10 years to require medical attention so I think he’s doing pretty good! Besides, boys like battle wounds! haha!

Thirty

Holy cow, y’all! I’m the big 3-0!!!!!!!

My birthday was Sunday. We had a fun day. Didn’t do a whole lot of anything! Which is exactly what I wanted to do!

We had an air show here this weekend so on Saturday I took the kids to see the Blue Angels! Hubby had to work traffic so we stalked down his traffic post and watched from there! :)

20120331_141201 DSC_0467 (side note-I’m having the hardest time finding shorts for Reece this year! These are WAY too short, in my opinion. And yes I’m picky about what they look like too, so that makes it harder!)DSC_0472They were all three way more interested in helping Daddy work the traffic light than seeing the jets!

I won’t bore you with all the pictures of the planes! It doesn’t do them justice anyway! If you ever have the opportunity to see the Blue Angels in person you should go!!! They are amazing!

Where have I been?

My poor blog has taken a backseat. :( I’m just a busy little bee!

I woke to this sweetness Saturday morning! I love how she is the perfect mix of me, Josh, Griffin and Peyton! There’s a little bit of all of us in her! Well, a lot of me. :)20120311_075742I made that Snicker’s salad that’s on Pinterest… It was ok. I won’t be making it again.20120310_121044  We’ve been spending ALOT of time with chicky chicks!20120313_180617 Moved them to one of our dog crates…works PERFECT! Here they are napping…20120310_113832And in my not so  spare time, I’m usually at the gym! See, you can do two things at once…and if you know me in real life you are laughing right now!20120314_111540Hey, watching Y&R AND burning 150 calories at the SAME TIME!!!! Hellllurrrrr!20120314_112852 Have I mentioned that I am dying for some beach time??? I REALLY want to spend my 30th birthday down there in a few weeks, but there’s an air show here that weekend. Hubs will more than likely have to work. Goody. Not only should you be thanking cops for their sacrifices but you should thank their WIVES! haha!

Actually, you should. We worry. A LOT.

Our Weekend

We had a pretty fabulous weekend! I had a couple of projects to work on and I had plenty of help with them! Both of them involved paint and now it is EVERYWHERE in the garage. Oops!

I think we were planning to paint the floor in there anyway. Well now I know we are.

I painted a frame for Reece’s bathroom. I plan to use it to hang hair bows on! Yes, I stole this idea from Pinterest, but it wasn’t used for bows! :) DSC_0872It’s huge! Like 40 inches wide! And, yes, it absolutely needs to be that big! Homegirl has some bows!!

Saturday night was not so great. The K-9 unit at Josh’s work had a really bad wreck. He was on his way to a call and apparently lost control of the car, it flipped several times down into a revene, the dog was ejected and died. :( The officer has injuries that do not appear to be life threatening. photo photo photoThat’s just a couple of the pictures that Josh has. When he started showing these to me tears started pouring down my face. This EASILY could have been MY husband in this car. On his way to help YOU or your child or your momma or your grandparents.

THANK A COP TODAY!!

They put their lives on the line EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. I know there are some cops that are not lovable but 95% of them are good people. They are doing this job because it’s what they love. Their wives(or husbands!) kiss them off to work praying every single time that it won’t be the last.

Ok, off the soap box. :)

Sunday was great. We spent most of the day relaxing and ended it playing Nintendo 3DS with Papa! :)DSC_0875And it just doesn’t get any better than that!

Rest In Peace Trevor Phillips! *Updated

For those of you who don’t live around here, we lost a police officer in the line of duty this past Saturday.

Officer Trevor Phillips was a motorcycle cop and was working a funeral procession. Someone in the procession decided they didn’t want to be in it anymore and turned out, hitting Officer Phillips.

What a waste of a life. Just because someone wasn’t paying attention his wife and kids are left alone. My heart aches for his wife. I don’t know how I would handle myself if this was me.

**Updated-Officer Phillips was not married and didn't have any children. I was told wrong so I wanted to correct myself! :)

We were at the ballpark when Josh got the call and I could tell in his voice that something was very wrong. Our police officers have been going through SO much in the last month since the tornado, this is another blow. Please keep them in your prayers!

Trevor Phillips His funeral is today. Visitation from 2-4. The public is asked to attend the procession, I’m going to try to make it over there if I can get off work in time!

And just in case you missed my tweet last night, Griffin and Peyton play for the championship tonight! Go Cardinals! :)

Torn Together

We’re definitely not torn apart here in Tuscaloosa!!! Everyone has come together! The outpouring of love and support right now in this city is unbelievable. Seriously “Thank You” will never be enough! It makes my heart warm to see this but at the same time my heart aches for the families affected by this.

We WILL get through this.

Hubby is obviously having to work a lot right now. And that’s fine. But it leaves me not being able to volunteer as much as I would like to. Friday around 10:30 I found out about someone who needed to get back to Gulf Shores that was here before the storm. Poor guy had not been to Tuscaloosa since 1993 and this is what went on while he was here. So I talked it over with the hubs and had myself and kids packed and in the car within an hour! My parents still didn’t have power and I knew my brother and sister were getting a little stir crazy so they came too! We packed out the Yukon! :) We came home late last night. Our hearts were never far from T-town and I felt a guilty for not being home, but I knew this man needed to get home and we loved the mental break!

I still have those pictures to post. I want to post them. But I feel guilty. If that was my house I don’t think I would mind…but you just never know how you will feel about that until it’s you with everything you own scattered everywhere.

We have 26 rental houses that are damaged or completely gone. That’s the count right now anyway. We finally can go back to work tomorrow because we have power now. First thing on the agenda is to find our tenants. Some have called so I know they are ok, but we haven’t heard from all of them.

Please continue to pray for us as we continue on this journey.

Twenty-Nine, Baseball and My Hero!

I’ve been 29 for a week now! Feels the same as 28! ha! The boys had a ballgame on my birthday so it was spent at the ballpark! I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way! I love watching them play!

And speaking of baseball, Griffin hit a home run last night! He was SO excited! And so were we! Then on his next hit he got a triple, Peyton was up to bat next and hit Griff in! I love it when that happens-when one or the other hits the other one in! Peyton is still adjusting to the pitching machine but he’s doing really well too!

Sometime last week Josh had a call at work that involved a lady that had a pace maker/defibulator. The defibulator was malfunctioning and kept shocking the poor lady! She lives in an apartment and her neighbors heard her screaming “I’m being hit” and called the cops! Josh got there and the poor lady was terrified! She told Josh to hit her in the back to stop it but that didn’t work. She really thought that she was going to die but Josh got her calm and told her he wasn’t going to let her die while he was there! Finally the ambulance arrived and got her to the hospital and I think she is fine now. She sent the hubby a really sweet card with a long letter thanking him and some balloons! It’s nice to feel appreciated! And it’s nice to be married to a hero! (He says it’s just his job, but whatev!) DSC_0006 OH and I added the baseball schedule on here so everyone can just check and see when the games are! Scroll all the way to the top and look to the left!

In the Line of Duty

So far in 2011 there have been 35 police officers killed in the line of duty.

THIRTY-FIVE

There have only been 66 days in this year. That’s practically one officer every other day.

That is INSANE and makes me want to puke.

I try so hard not to think about something happening to Officer Hubby but dang. When those numbers slap you in the face you can’t help it.

I feel like I was doing much better with this, but for some reason I’m worried all over again.

I really truly do NOT know what I would do with out him.

Dang, I’m crying.

Officer Hubby, The Drunk

The following story has transpired over the last few weeks and hubby FORGOT to tell me! We’ve been that busy…but don’t you worry your pretty little head, he got in trouble because he KNEW this was blog worthy! hee hee!

A couple of months ago Hubby sold his car so he could get that fast and furious car that I told you about. Actually, we have a family member that owns a car dealership and the family member sold it….AND forgot to take the license plate off of it before the new owner left with the car. Big no no. A few weeks ago new owner dude had the car parked somewhere it shouldn’t and the license plate was ran…it was no big deal because whoever ran it knows Josh from work, but they did let him know.

Then, sometime last week, new owner dude was apparently involved in a hit and run and was found passed out in the car on the strip(happening place on the UA campus if you don’t live here!) An officer from TPD(where Josh used to work) found him…this officer is newer and doesn’t know who hubby is. New owner dude is so passed out that he can’t even tell the officer his name soooooooo officer runs the plate and it comes back to Josh C. This was over the radio and allllll of Josh’s buddies started calling each other…trying to figure out what the crap my husband was doing passed out in a car….”he must be out celebrating his new job…no, his wife would never let him do that!” haha. One of them finally just decided to head on over to where “Josh” was and get him and take him home. As soon as he got there he realized that it wasn’t him…

Needless to say, Officer Hubby got his license plate back the next day…

It’s official!

Hubby took the job at City #2! That’s the one that’s closer to home :) We are super excited!

He starts in about two weeks. Actually he starts the same day my jury duty starts…boo. I really don’t want to do the jury duty thing. I know it’s my civic duty blah blah blah. And if it was any other time then I would be excited. BUT, it’s the first of the month..which is my SUPER busy time at work. I mean I don’t even look up half the time when it’s that time of the month..BUSY! Griffin’s birthday party is that Saturday also so I’m sure there will be last minute things going on with that that I won’t be able to handle in a court room! Here’s to hoping I don’t get picked…

Oh and we almost bought a 3100 square foot house last week! How did I forget to mention that one? We could fit two of the house we’re in now in it easily!!! We’ve been thinking about building for a few months, we just haven’t found the right spot, plus we were waiting to see what happened with Josh’s job…then all of a sudden this house fell into our laps, so to speak. Of course it didn’t really fall into our laps! The house is in foreclosure like so many others right now, BUT it needs some work. When a house is foreclosed on it’s supposed to be winterized…well, apparently this one wasn’t and pipes burst last winter, along with the hot water heater that’s in the upstairs attic. ALL of the flooring is ruined…the carpet is mildewed and the hardwoods are all buckled. Plus, it’s about 10 years old and just needs some updating…which I would happily oblige! :) That’s my thing! There’s four bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, a HUGE kitchen, A HUGE LAUNDRY ROOM!!!, a massive den with a two story ceiling, two dining rooms…why anyone would need two is beyond me so that would be made into a fifth bedroom for another baby!!!!!!!!(thinking that will happen in about a year!) With all of that said, the bank that owns the house would need to significantly come down on the price of the house for us to be able to do all the work needed and last week they just weren’t ready to come down. So, we’ll wait it out and if it’s meant to be it will!

We really weren’t prepared yet anyway, we’ll need ALOT more furniture to fill that puppy up! Meanwhile, we’ll feel better when Officer Hubby is more settled in his new job before we decide where we’re gonna move next!

Life is so fabulous!

Chief of Police!

That just has a nice little ring to it, doesn’t it?!?!

So, here’s the deal Lucille! You fellow police wives KNOW what a long process it is to become a police officer…it’s horrendous. It takes almost as long to switch to another police department as well, only thing you don’t have to do is go through the academy again. That’s how it is around here anyway.

Josh has been working for the city he works for now for two years(we’re gonna call it City #1), before that he worked at TPD for like four years I think. City #1 is great, but it’s about a 45 minute drive from our house and since hubby was used to being really busy at TPD, he’s a little bored at City #1 because there’s just not much going on. So, Hubby decided to apply to a city that’s 10 minutes from our house(we’re gonna call it City #2) several months ago…I don’t even remember how long it’s been!

A few months into the hiring process Hubby and I were having a date night to PF Changs. On the way to the restaurant he said to me, “If City #2 offers me a job I am going to go to the Mayor of City #1 and tell them I will stay if I can have the Chief position when the current one retires.” I told him he was nuts. Not that I mind him being chief, I just thought that would never happen.

The hiring process continued on and he never said anything else about the chief position. Then it really started to look like City #2 was going to offer him a job. Meanwhile, City #1’s Chief(Josh’s Boss) came to him and told him that he knew Josh was thinking about leaving and that he just wanted him to know that he had talked to the mayor about Josh being City #1’s next chief when he retires in about 3 years……and the mayor agreed that Josh should be the next chief….. So, Josh never even had to mention that he was interested!

Awww snap! Just call me the Chief’s Chief! hahaha!

This week City #2 has offered Josh a job. So, it’s decision making time for sure. You may think that he would automatically take the Chief position. That’s not the case. At all. City #1 has to agree to several stipulations before Josh takes that position(he will be Assistant Chief until the current Chief retires). I really don’t know if they are going to be able to do everything that Josh needs them to do in order to keep him there.

And, I really would rather him be at City #2 for my selfish reason that I just want him closer to home. I really think he would be happier at City #2 because Josh is a “go get ‘em” type of police officer…he loves a good foot pursuit. They make him so excited….and me so nervous!

On the other hand he would make a GREAT Chief. And even if he goes to City #2 now, I don’t think that will rule him out as the new chief when City #1’s chief retires…

The decision is totally in his hands….I’ll keep y’all posted!

xoxo and I feel so much better for getting all that out,

Cop Wife

Sometimes it’s hard to be a cop wife. I remember when Josh first told me that he was thinking about becoming a police officer…it made me so nervous! And for months after he started working at TPD I couldn’t hardly sleep.

His life is on the line every single time he leaves our house to go to work.

That sucks.

But I have finally come to the point where I don’t worry so much. I know it’s out of my hands and all I can do is pray for him to be safe!

Still, every now and then I let my emotions get the best of me and freak out. Case in point, Saturday morning. Actually let’s back all the way up to the day I posted on here about getting a new critter! Almost as soon as I posted asking for advice on what to get I b-lined it to the nearest pet store and spent $70+ on a hamster and all the jazz to go with it. I didn’t even give y’all time to talk me out of it! But anyway, the kids loved her and she was super cute! WAY better than having a cat! But when I woke up on Saturday morning she was dead. as. a. doornail. Yes I am serious. The kids were up but weren’t awake enough to even pay any attention and it looked like the rat was asleep. So. I texted the hubs who generally would have been on his way home at that time. Wellll, he didn’t say anything back so I called him…no answer. Hmm..I figured he was just on a late call and would call me back. I texted Allison to tell her the news. Meanwhile it had been 10 minutes or so since I tried to call Josh so I tried again. No answer. Made me a little but anxious. I tried to ignore the crazy in me that wanted to freak out and went about my morning making the kids breakfast. I called him every 5-10 minutes for 45 minutes and then my heart started racing. I didn’t want the kids to know I was worried so I still tried to ignore that gut wrenching feeling…and the tears that REALLY wanted to flow. Then my cell phone rang…it was Allison and as soon as I answered I started bawling! I couldn’t control it anymore so I went and hid in my bathroom and talked to her and she tried to talk some sort of sense into me! Didn’t work BUT my phone beeped and it was JOSH! YAY! I have NEVER been so relieved!

He could immediately tell that I was crying…

Josh: “What’s wrong babe?”

Me: “I’m just really worried about you!!!!”

Josh: “Oh I am SO sorry!!!! I’ve been on a CRAZY call and didn’t know you had been trying to call!! I am so sorry!”

All I could do was cry and laugh. He felt SO bad.

I know this post is getting lengthy, but you will be laughing even harder than you are now when you read what he was dealing with! It WAS crazier than me!

Officer Hubby was arresting an illegal mexican for sodomy and rape of a girl that had mental problems.(Bentley for Governor!!) He got a call from another officer that needed assistance at a local gas station. There was a man there, clean cut man, that had walked around behind the counter at the gas station..where the cashiers are. He unzipped his pants and whipped out his wiener. (how else do I say that on here?!?!?) When Josh got there he was singing to Josh, “My ding-a-ling is bigger than your ding-a-ling.” When the other officer was putting handcuffs on him he backed up and tried to grab the officer’s package! Can we say coo coo for cocoa puffs? Hubs starting investigating things and apparently the man went missing from Huntsville(North Alabama) 10 hours prior. He was not drunk or high. He was having a mental breakdown that made him THAT coo-coo. It’s really sad.

I don’t post too much about hubby’s job….but I did get permission for this one! :)

Law Abiding Citizen!

Josh and I had a fantastic weekend!! Let me just go ahead and say this…if you are trying to make the decision to go to the beach right now you should GO! There are plenty of places you can find that haven’t even seen oil. And how can you resist good food?!?!?! It’s not crowded and it’s paradise! GO!

Now back to me being a law abiding citizen.

We left late Friday afternoon. We decided I would drive down. I usually do…I love to drive down, I HATE to drive back! I ain’t gonna lie, it took me until about Thomasville to get chilled out! Once that happened, we were good to go. We got road food…you know, peanut M & M’s, gummy worms, pig skins, Mt. Dew, etc. I try not to speed too much, really I do. I’ve been on this trip so many times I know EXACTLY where I’ll get a ticket if I don’t slow down. Fast forward to Robertsdale. It’s about 30 minutes from the beach and the best speed trap I’ve ever seen in my ever lovin’ life! SMALLLLLL town. VERY easy to speed through and it’s worse because you’re so close to the beach and getting excited! We had only been in the car for 3 1/2 hours so that meant we were going make it down in about 4 hours! So we’re stopped at a traffic light(the one with all the flags for those of you who know!) and our conversation goes something like this….

ME: Babe, I really gotta pee!

Josh: Well, stop somewhere!

ME: No, I don’t like stopping when it’s dark and I don’t really know the area that well. Plus, I want to see how fast we can get there! Looks like it’s gonna be only 4 hours!(drive normally takes around 4 1/2)

And I proceeded to drive on my merry little way….UNTIL there were blue lights in my rear view mirror!

Heart sank…

ME: Babe, I’m getting pulled over!

Josh: OK.

ME: What do I do?

Josh: Pull over!

ME: Where?

Josh: Over in that parking lot would be best.

ME: NOOO, he’s gonna think I’m trying to run from him!! (this is SO freakin funny now! haha!)

Josh: well, ok.

So, I pulled over on a side street.

ME: Crap. Is he gonna know you are a cop?

Josh: No, give him my FOP card.(fraternal order of police)

ME: ok, is he gonna give me a ticket?

Josh: I don’t know, see what he says.

ME: OH CRAP! I’m goin to jail!

Officer Bill: Can I see your license?

I handed him my license, my proof of insurance and the fop card.

Officer Bill: You’re in law enforcement?!?

ME: No he is!(pointed to hubs)

Officer Bill: 51 in a 35!!!!

ME: I’m sorry!!!!(pouty lips)

Officer Bill to Josh: Some sort of cop talk I wasn’t listening.

Officer Bill: Where are you going?

ME: the beach.

Officer Bill: It’s still gonna be there when you get there!!!!

ME: I know, I’m sorry. (pouty lips again)

Now, you would think that with hubs being a cop and all I wouldn’t be nervous…I was shakin’ like a leaf on a tree!

Officer Bill: Well, slow down, k?

ME: ok, ok, ok.

And that my friends is how I got out of that speeding ticket because let me tell ya, you DON’T get out of speeding tickets in Robertsdale.

Thanks hubby!

I’ll post more on our trip tomorrow…with pictures and our new restaurant we found!

xoxo,

OH! and my stepbrothers girlfriend is auditioning for American Idol…she went through some auditions in New Orleans this past weekend and today she is auditioning in front of the judges to go to Cali!!!! So exciting!

Big FAT pain in the tail!

Grab your popcorn.

Ugh! This morning hubs called me and as soon as I answered the phone I could tell he was in a tizzy. He told me that Visa card services had just called our house and said that there looked like there were fraudulent charges on my debit card and for me to call them. Freakin' peachy. So I called-it was an automated call- and there was a charge at Home Depot in Missouri for $400! I said that I didn't authorize it and there was a hold placed on my card and I was told to call my credit union. And that's just the beginning of my saga for the day....

Good thing I looked cute today!

Anyway. I contacted my step-dad who works for the credit union and he told me who to contact. I contacted that lady and by this time(like 10 minutes later) there were two more charges at the same Home Depot-one for $200 and one for $201. They were pending to clear my checking account! $800!! There's definitely not an extra $800 in there! Gah! I had to go to the credit union to fill out paperwork to dispute the charges. Oh, the credit union also told me that the person that stole the number made their own card!!! How the heck do you do that?!?! Have I mentioned how busy I am right now? I don't have time for this crap. While I was at the credit union they told me that I had to go to the police department and have a report made. I thought that would be easy because the PD is across the street from my office.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

I forgot that the rookies normally have to man the desk. Poor guy. He was so nervous. And once he found out hubs was a cop, he got even more nervous it seemed.

At least he was cute because I had to look at him for a long time! He couldn't figure out if he could even make a report since the fraud actually happened in another state, out of his jurisdiction. So we called hubs and between the two of them they figured that an investigator should be called and they could tell us what to do. So, Officer called an investigator and the investigator said that they could take the report and he would take it from there!

All that took like 45 minutes.

Then Officer had to write the report. That took a while too.

So, there you have it. My luck. I hope they find the creep and he rots in jail.

xoxo

I'm better, thanks!

I've slowed down a tad bit but, now I am anxious about the boys starting school tomorrow! We went to open house yesterday. It was crowded and hot! We met both teachers and that made me feel a little better. And it helps that Griffin and Peyton are excited now! A first grader AND a kindergartener???!!!

We went to Josh's parents' house Saturday night for a surprise birthday party for Thomas(Josh's uncle). There were a ton of people there and it was fun! When it was time for cake Paw Paw(Josh's Dad) came out dressed as the grim reaper! It was too funny! The kids swam and swam..they were worn out! Reece is a little water bug...she is not scared AT ALL of the water.

The kicker of the whole day came as we were driving home. Josh was driving and he had the cruise control set on 70 mph. The speed limit was 65 mph. We were just chit chatting when all of a sudden there were blue lights behind us!!! Oh my! And then my responsible police officer of a husband turned to me and said, "I don't even have my license!" I said, "WHAT?!" I quickly turned around to make sure the boys were still buckled, gave them the "mommy look" and told them they better not say a WORD when that officer came to the window! Thankfully we both have police license plates on our cars and as soon as the state trooper came up to the window he asked Josh where he works. Josh told him where he worked and that he didn't have his license. The trooper just told us to have a great night. Josh stopped him and asked him why he pulled us over. He said that we were going 72mph. Soooo, I guess my speedometer is off! As soon as Josh rolled the window up Griffin screamed from the back, "I pooted!!" Now that's funny!

Even with the hubs being a cop, it still freaked my freak to get pulled over! ha!
Griffin, Peyton and Reece were in the pool when the grim reaper made his appearance and didn't even notice. Elaina??? She no lika!!!
Peyton: Just chillin with my lil sis!
Reece: Hey Pey, want to get Dad to turn us in circles real fast and give Mom a heart attack??
Peyton: Oh yea!!
Griffin makes a pretty mean canonball!
Check out THAT icing!
Griff thought his ice cream would do the same! Not so much!
Janna and her friend chunking Elaina in the pool! AND giving her momma a heart attack!
I LOVED that Griff had Eliza there to dish it right back to him! :)

OK, so it looks like she is in there by herself...but she's not!
Sadly, this is the only pic I got of the birthday boy! He was popping balloons while we were singing Happy Birthday!

You gotta love a Cop's kid!

Yesterday on my way to pick up Peyton and Reece from preschool I noticed in a parking lot of a local restaurant a car with its doors flung open and three or four patrol cars around it and only one police officer standing there. Obviously someone tried to make a traffic stop and the gangsta bailed on them and they were on foot running somewhere. So I hurried on to get the kids so Peyton could see all the patrol cars.('cause you know he wants to be a police officer just like his daddy!) When I came back by they were still there---are you ready to pee in your pants?!?

Me: Look over there at all those police cars buddy!
Peyton with NO hesitation: Yep, that's exactly why we don't throw trash out the car window!

I laughed so hard I cried!

My friend Donna is making some fun purses for you girls that live around here---and are Alabama fans! The most fabulous team EVA! Can I get a Roll Tide?!
There are TONS of inside pockets and the pockets are made from the "A" material-if you know what I mean! This can easily double as a diaper bag too! She is selling them for $45, which is way cheaper than anything else houndstooth! Let me know if you want one!
Oh, and our ball game got rained out yesterday and moved to Thursday...which means that we won't be playing Friday, so we can head to the beach early!!!! YAY!

This, That & The Other

That was for you, Mom! HA!

I will start this post by fore-warning you that it is another one of my random ones! And, it's a long one!

First I would like to say that I am SO disappointed in these police officers! Morons like that give the good cops like mine a bad reputation! I'm sure their adrenaline was going and it was going extra because the dude hit one of the officers with his car...when you mess with a fellow officer, you are SO playing with fire! That is still no reason for the brutal beating. Ugh.

I have a new drink addiction.....

Yep, Mt. Dew Voltage. LOVE IT! If you haven't tried it, don't think "Mt. Dew" when you drink it...think "totally new drink"! If you think regular Mt. Dew, you most likely won't like it!

Josh and Peyton went to the McWane Center yesterday with Peyton's class. They had a blast but boy were they tired! Sheesh! Josh ended up being resposible for half the kids and they drove him nuts!

Can I just say that I am SO excited that Kris Allen won American Idol?! He is so dang cute!

Remember this post talking about my grandparents? Well, the truth is, I have more! No kidding! How, you ask, does a girl have so many grandparents/parents??? Lemme just say that that is a whole entire other post in itself. A very complicated story, to say the least! Put it this way...Griffin was asking questions the other day about alllll his grandparents and was trying to hard to put everyone with who they go with or used to go with....Josh said, "Don't worry about it buddy, even I don't get it all!" ha! So maybe one day, I will do a post on that one! Anywho, my grandparents from Texas were here for a week a few weeks ago and here's the pics! PawPaw and the boys aren't in any of them because they snuck off to Wendy's for a frosty!

Sweet Sophie face!

Now, I'll tell ya about a little bit of trouble I got in with my officer! Griffin graduates tomorrow.(And when I dropped him off at school this morning for the last day of Kindergarten, I thought I was going to have a freakin' heart attack!) And so we were going to buy him a cute new outfit for graduation. We were going to go together---yea like all five of us, but then we used our brain and decided that that was just dumb! We decided that I would go and Josh would stay home with the other two. Well, Griff and I found a really cute light purple shirt and a really pretty light purple tie to match! And it was SO CUTE on him! And then I thought, "hmmm...ya best bet is to call the hubby and make sure you aren't going to get in trouble for purple!" And so I did, and he didn't answer. So, I bought them and we headed home. On the ride home I called again just to be sure everything was ok. This time he answered and here is the conversation:
Sweet little 'ole me: "Are you going to kill me if I tell you that I bought a purple shirt and a purple tie?"
Hunny Bunny: "You're kidding. Right?"
Me: "No. It's cute!"
Hunny Bunny: "That's exactly why I wanted to go, so you wouldn't buy anything girly!"
Me: "I don't buy the boys girly clothes!"
Hunny Bunny: "um, yes you do. You bought Peyton that purple shirt and a pink polo shirt."
Me: "Real men wear pink." HA and no I didn't say that to my hubby! But, for the record Peyton's purple shirt is dark purple and boyish.

So, there you have it! A tid bit of what's been going on this week!

And because I couldn't resist....
