New Farm Babies{AGAIN!} and an Adoption Update!

Last Wednesday was an exciting day around our house! When I arrived home from work Josh was feeding all of the animals so Brooks and I went to "help"! I noticed something about Trixie, one of our pygmy goats, that may indicate she would have a baby soon! (Trying to keep it PG here!) We weren't even 100% that she was pregnant and if she was we thought it would be a while because she wasn't very big at all. Last time she had babies, back in July 2015, she was huge! After being around her for a few minutes I realized that what I saw only indicated that she had already had a baby. They were not in sight, so I just KNEW I was going to walk around the goat yard until I found a dead, stillborn baby goat. :(

I went to their little goat house and peeked inside and didn't see anything...then I looked over to the right and there was a tiny little black baby sleeping! Then I looked a little further and saw another little tan baby sleeping! EEKKSS! SURPRISE! I scooped them up and all the kids and the hubs came running to see!

Two little baby GIRLS this time!

Meet Pixie and Tink!

They are the sweetest little things!

This is one of the older ones that was born in January, but I just love this picture of him with Reece! He's the best little goat! He loves to be held or just sit in your lap!
And now for a not so great adoption update.

We received an email Friday that the home study agency that we were using has had their Hague Accreditation put on hold and we need to switch home study agencies. This means nothing to you, I know. But for us, it's huge. Our first big bump in the road. I've done A TON of paperwork that now has to been redone and some other things that will have to be redone. It's all very time consuming and now to start over? UGH!

Fun Fourth of July and New Farm Friends

We had a fabulous Fourth of July! We spent most of the week at the beach, after getting Reece, Brooks and myself over strep throat! Yuck! There’s really no place I would rather be than watching fireworks on the beach!

You won’t see Peyton in any of these beach pictures. :( We had to make the hardest parenting decision we have EVER had to make and leave him in town. More on that later.

Other than missing Peyton, we had the best time! Playing on the beach with cousins and eating and having beach dates thanks to Paw Paw!IMG_20150705_215657

This kid…SO.MUCH.JOY!IMG_20150702_175630IMG_20150702_181531

After dinner on this night, I rode the Sky Coaster with Griffin! I rode it all the time when I was a teenager and it was time to introduce him! haha! He loves doing crazy things like this just like me so we had FUN! IMG_20150702_211426 Paw Paw called and said he was headed over with Pizza and a Piñata….so the four of us said, “See ya!” HA!IMG_20150703_171901 IMG_20150704_201533 IMG_20150704_194146

BIG NEWS from the farm!! I mentioned in my last post that we had a pregnant goat. Well, I KNEW she would have them while we were out of town! When we arrived home Reece, Brooks, Griffin and I headed to check on her….we were about halfway to their pasture and Reece squealed, “BABY GOATSSSSSSSS!” Ahhhhhhhhhhh! I practically through Brooks at Griffin because he wasn’t wearing shoes and ran and scooped those babies UP!(Terrible mother, I know.)

Have you EVER???? OH EM GEEEE! IMG_20150705_192650 Y’all!!! I’m so in love! One girl and one boy! Here’s our girl…IMG_20150708_175736   And here’s our boy…20150706_102346_resizedThey don’t have names yet…I’m trying to think of something cute and patriotic since they were born around the 4th of July! I thought about maybe Doodle and Dandy…but not sure yet! :) And since our male is not the daddy…we can keep the girl! :) Hubby says we can keep the boy too(we’ll just have to separate him). So, we’ll see! They just prance and jump and play…so fun!

We are all just smitten! :)

New Farm Friends!

I think I may have a problem. I love ALL the animals. They are so cute and fun and cuddly. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right?

Our Doberman, Niko, passed away last Friday. He was around 8 or 9 and before he came to live with us probably didn’t have the best life. Their life span is only around 10 years, so we figure it was probably old age.

The kids were out of school that day and Reece was with me at work when I found out. We were both pretty bummed. (She was way more upset) I decided we needed a happy and so off to the pet store we went!

We left with this guy…

Meet Peter!20150424_160221_resized

At first she named him RICK! HA! He’s so cute and soft! He loves to be held and we all are doing our best to hold him all the time!

Side note: when we were in the pet store they signed me up for some type of savings card or something. They got my normal info and then she asked, “what type of animal do you own?” I laughed and started naming them off, “dogs, cat, chickens, ducks, goats and now a bunny!” HA!

I have been looking for a male Pygmy Goat for some time now. About a week ago I found one on Craigslist, but he was 2 hours away! I talked it over with the hubs and we decided that Sunday afternoon would be a perfect road trip day! So, off we went, in the Paw Paw truck! (Yes, I call it that in real life!)20150426_104837_resized(YES, he has a passy. YES, you can judge. NO, I don’t care!)

Meet Jack!IMG_20150426_170757I wonder what the girls are thinking here?!! Haha!

Hopefully, in the next year or so, we’ll have GOAT BABIES!

Meet Foxy and Roxy!

Foxy and Roxy, our new baby pygmy goats!!

On Saturday, Hubby and I ventured over to the little town of Gordo and brought these babies home! I don’t have the best pictures YET and I don’t have bows on them YET because they are a little shy right now. But everyday they like us a little more so I’m sure in no time they will be sitting in our laps! 2014071295163703This is when they were checking out the chickens. Our coop is actually inside the goat pen so that we can let our chickens roam during the day. The goats like to go inside the chicken pen and jump around on top of the little coop that the silkies are in!2229_resized

Oh my word!!! They are SO CUTE!! AND FUN!!! We just thought chickens were fun!
