On not finding out!

I thought that since our sweet boy is finally here that I would give my take on not finding out the gender!

I wish we would have done it ALL FOUR TIMES!

Seriously. It was that much fun! That one little surprise that you can give yourself…that moment when the baby comes out and your husband announces what it is…priceless! I am telling you…if you have the chance you NEED to do this at least once! Don’t get me wrong, it was sometimes hard while I was pregnant to not know and people WILL piss you off about it…but people are going to piss you off anyway while you are pregnant so this is just one more thing! HA!

I still catch myself surprised that he’s a he! Haha! I’m so thankful that it’s a boy though! Some people actually thought that I was disappointed that it was a boy…um just because I thought it was a girl the whole time doesn’t mean that I only wanted a girl! DUH! Actually, the morning we were getting induced Reece had spent the night with my sister the night before. Well at 3:30am she called me crying because she wanted me. After I got off the phone with her there was a “Please God, let this be a boy!”. Just because she’s my girl! I also didn’t realize until he was here how worried my husband was about having another girl! Reece has his heart!

Oh and how’s the girl that REALLLLLY wanted a baby sister?IMG_20130428_130733

She’s just fine with him! ;)

And the brotherly love is pretty sweet too!

IMG_20130422_155321Sure having another girl would have evened things out, but isn’t it nice how you get EXACTLY what you’re supposed to have? Brooks is the perfect ending to our family!20130519_143317

Landon Brooks – A Birth Story

Monday, April 22, 2013 was the best day of my life. Not that our wedding day or the days our other children were born aren’t VERY special to me, but it’s just we were ALL there this time..so it was SO special to me. The completion of our family.

We sent the kids on to school with plans on having them picked up and brought to the hospital when I was about 5 cm.

Josh and I arrived at the hospital bright and early at 6:oo am. As we walked in the door of the hospital Josh said to me, “I’m team Blue.” It caught me off guard a little because pretty much the whole pregnancy we thought girl. I was SO anxious. I wanted to soak everything up and not take one single moment for granted. Josh got us moved in to our room and I changed into my gown.

20130422_062100

Then we just waited on my BFF, Jamie, who was my labor nurse to arrive! SO SO SO thankful to have the opportunity to have her. She knows me well and that really helped.

20130422_091733

Once she was there she got my IV going and got the pitocin started. Then my doctor came in to break my water. Y’ALL!!! I have never in my LIFE…there was SO MUCH fluid. It was insane. My sister and Josh were both in the room and they said it sounded like a balloon pop. Even Jamie said she had never seen that much and she’s been delivering babies for a long time! We did know from an ultrasound that there was extra but we had no clue it was THAT much extra! All of that happened around 8:30am and I was only 1cm dilated.

The next hour was pretty uneventful but I could tell the contractions were getting a little stronger. Then by about 9:45 they were UNBEARABLE. I was shaking from the pain…I have never had contractions that strong. I think it was just because he was SO low for so long and once I started dilating it was just going fast. Lucky for me the anesthesiologist came and gave me the best epidural ever! He was SO nice and patient with me as I had some really bad contractions through it. Poor Jamie, I was clinging to her so hard I thought I would rip her scrubs! About 5 minutes later I was in NO pain at all. It was glorious. I don’t see why or how anyone could do that without an epidural.

Meanwhile, family and friends were coming and going. They were picking which team they wanted to be on. I was talking with Josh and mentioned that if it was a boy that I thought I wanted to call him Brooks instead of Landon. Well, apparently that was the plan all along and I had forgot. Actually I really think that I was so sure that it was a girl that I wasn’t worried about it. HA! Hopefully our sweet BOY will forgive me for thinking he was a girl!

My fabulous sisters patiently waiting with their team pink stickers!DSC_0774

DSC_0039Around 11:15 I started feeling  really weird. My head felt funny. I asked Jamie to take my blood pressure because I just didn’t feel right. It was normal. She decided to check me. I wish I had a picture of the look on her face. I was 5cm but she could tell that I would be 10 VERY soon. About that time her lunch relief came and so she ran to eat. We sent everyone to get the kids. As time ticked on I could just tell that it was getting really close. I could feel the baby moving down and started having pressure. The kids arrived and I got to see them briefly before it was go time! It was SUCH a relief to have them there because it was so important to me that they be the very first ones to know what the baby was!

Last pic as a family of five! Honestly, I was just trying to hold the baby IN at this point.DSC_0766

Around 12:15 Jamie got back from lunch and I told her that I was pretty sure it was time! She checked me and said it was! One of the other nurses called my doctor to tell him to hurry on over to the hospital and Jamie told me not to move! HA! Dr. R said no pushing until he got there.

This is about the time that I just wanted to hold Josh’s hand and cry. And cry. And cry. Happy tears.DSC_0775 He called a few minutes later and said he was there and that I could push. I pushed a couple of times and had to stop. We called Dr. R and told him it was time to deliver! Once he arrived I pushed a couple of times. I felt the baby coming out and made eye contact with my doctor, we both smiled and at 12:41pm I got the biggest and best surprise of my life when I heard my husband say, “IT’S A BOY!!”

He came out kicking and screaming. Perfection. DSC_0841

DSC_0865 Still can’t believe he was 8 pounds and 3 ounces!DSC_0869

I was cleaned up and so was he. And y’all know EXACTLY what I did as soon as they handed him to me! KISSED THOSE SWEET LIPS 975 TIMES!!!DSC_0883

Josh went and got the kids. They were all team pink! They walked in the room and gathered around me and the baby. Josh told them they have a baby brother! They were quiet….but smiling as they checked him out! Griffin cried. Sweet boy. He had been really worried about me for a few weeks. I was huge and miserable and everything hurt…I tried to prepare them as much as I could for when they saw me in the hospital but he was still emotional. He cried more the next day when he was holding Brooks and said, “I’m just so glad he’s here!” DSC_0895

DSC_0905After we had a little family time the kids went to the waiting room to tell everyone the news ! Needless to say I wasn’t the only one surprised!DSC_0931

DSC_0940

Daddy’s first time to hold him! He’s a pro!DSC_0949 Reece’s first time to hold him…she loves him SO much!

DSC_0006 Peyton’s first time to hold him!DSC_0019 And Griffin’s first time to hold him!DSC_0034

And then there were SIX!DSC_0045 I’ll be back soon with more from our hospital stay!

39 Weeks!

DSC_0759 How far along: 39 Weeks! Thirty-Nine! 3-9!!! Holy cow!

Size of the baby: Um full size! hahaha! It takes up every square inch of my belly!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 32 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: It’s getting worse. I barely sleep at all. Last night it was only about 3 hours.

Best moment this week: My doctor telling me it was time to get this kid O-U-T!

Movement: Still very active!

Food cravings/aversions: Just the tea with lemon still.

Gender: I don’t know….but soon enough we will!!!!! If you plan to come to the hospital the day the baby is born…wear your color prediction!

Labor signs: I can tell baby is getting lower and lower and lower. Not sure how much longer I will be able to walk! ha!

Belly button in or out: Hubby says it’s flat!

What I am looking forward to: MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my weekly doctor’s appointment on Wednesday this week! Things are still progressing. He asked me again how much the ultrasound said the baby weighed the week before. I told him 7 pounds and 15 ounces and he said, “Well, we probably need to get this baby out then!” I responded with “Yes Dr. R as soon as possible!” :) So we’re scheduled to be induced on Monday! It may very well happen before then and that’s a-okay with me!

And just for fun, how about I have NEVER been pregnant this long! Reece was the longest before this one and she was 38 weeks 6 days!

As far as updating on here, I don’t know. I am going to try to update but it just depends on how things go. I really want to soak up every second of the day, you may better just follow me on twitter!

Nursery!

I think we’re finally done with the baby’s room! At least until it get’s here! Not sure what it’s waiting on! Tired of calling it it!

I’m a lamp girl, so this is how it looks most of the time!DSC_0742

Please excuse my assistant! Gah she’s so dang cute!DSC_0743 And then we turned on the big lights so you can see! :) The door to the right goes into the hallway, the door to the left goes into our bedroom! The closet is behind me!DSC_0749  DSC_0755 Looks like this is the only shot I got of this other table. :/ Meant to get a better, closer one. That jar is full of paci’s, the framed print says “You are my sunshine” and the other polka dot thing is also for a picture(my sister Kelsie made it). The stuff in the floor on the right, that’s the baby’s hospital things and to the left is the best thing EVER invented for a baby! Every baby should have this glider!DSC_0756No, your eyes do not deceive you, there is no rocking chair or glider in this room. I’m not one for sitting around in the nursery, I’ll either be in my room or the living room rocking! :)

A huge thank you to my hubby and my sisters for putting work in on this!

Now we just need a baby to put in it!

38 Weeks-Tic Tock!

DSC_0741I thought I deserved a t-shirt day today! Still representin’ though! And speaking of the gym, we have this little old lady that works out there(y’all KNOW how I love old people) and we were talking the other day and she thinks GFG stands for God’s Favorite Gym! haha! It’s God Family Gym but none of us have the heart to tell her any different! Plus it probably is His favorite! ;)

How far along: 38 Weeks! Get this kid OUT!

Size of the baby: According to the Pregnant Chicken, “Forget fruit, your baby is actually the size of a baby!” HAHA!

But really, this baby weighs 7 pounds and 15 ounces at the most! (as per our ultrasound!)

Total weight gain/loss: Up 32 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: It would be nice to have some!

Best moment this week: Seeing our sweet little baby at our ultrasound yesterday! And now it looks nothing like Peyton to me! It’s so crazy how they change SO much! He/she has the most perfect, plump little lips that were KILLING me! Can’t wait to kiss those! And fat little cheeks! AHHHHH, get it OUT NOW!!!

We also saw my doctor yesterday. Things are progressing nicely according to him. I go back to see him Wednesday.

Movement: Me? Or the baby? Baby is still bouncing around in there like a Mexican Jumping Bean. I, on the other hand, can’t get around so well. This baby is SO LOW that it just feels like it’s going to fall out at any given moment. And everything just hurts. Sorry to the two men that read this! haha! It is what it is!

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really.

Gender: We scooted by the ultrasound once again without finding out! Yay us!

Labor signs: Still having contractions, they like to start in my back. It friggin’ hurts.

Belly button in or out: Um, I would tell you if I could see it!

What I am looking forward to: Ha! Um I don’t know?!?! Having a baby, maybe? hahaha!

And, yes, I’m still working!

37 Weeks-Full Term!

DSC_0702

How far along: 37 Weeks! Feels good to be full term! Not so many worries!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, it weighs 6 1/3 pounds and is a little over 19 inches..like a stalk of Swiss Chard…what?

Total weight gain/loss: Up 30 pounds. I lost another 2 pounds while I was sick and managed to gain a pound back.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: It’s ok.

Best moment this week: Getting past that nasty stomach bug, having a good baby check-up and having a date with Reece.

We went and got our baby pedi’s last night! :) HAVE to have our toes cute when the baby comes!IMG_20130404_165749

Movement: OUCH!

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really. Just keeping myself alive this week! haha!

Gender: Um I can’t wait!

Labor signs: Yes! I am having contractions on and off! I’ve never had contractions before being in the hospital because with Griffin my water broke and they never started and with the other two I was induced.

Belly button in or out: In. Flatish.

What I am looking forward to: HAVING A BABY!

I had my weekly doc appointment on Wednesday. Everything looks great! I wasn’t dilated any but the head is extremely low, even since this is my fourth baby! So, that’s good news! My next appointment is Thursday!

ANY DAY NOW!!!!!!!

36 Weeks!

HOW is this my 36 week post already?! This pregnancy has flown by SO fast!

DSC_0701

How far along: 36Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, he or she is “packing on the pounds”(that makes me cringe) and now weighs about 6 pounds(a crenshaw melon) and is 18 1/2 inches long! Gosh, Reece was only 19 inches when she was born!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 31 pounds. Lost 2 pounds in less than a week. Don’t tell Big Mama, she’ll have a speech for me! HAHA!

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: What’s that? Last night is the only night I’ve slept this week.

Best moment this week: Cuddling up with Hubby and falling asleep last night. He makes everything better. I’m sure that’s why I actually got some sleep last night.

Movement: Yes. And it’s starting to hurt!

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really. Well I want a lot of things, but right now I’m not allowing myself because most of it is sweet!

Gender: I have NO clue!

Labor signs: A few. I’ve had a lot of Braxton-Hicks this week as well as real contractions. Oh boy those babies will grab your attention!

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: Doctor’s appointment on Wednesday…hoping for a little progress! Oh and my birthday Monday! :) I would not be opposed to sharing my birthday with a little someone either!

Well, it’s official! I’m miserable. Especially at night. But, that’s ok…just keep swimming, right?!

35 Weeks!

DSC_0699

From the looks of this picture that baby is WAY high! Sure doesn’t feel like it! haha!

How far along: 35 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, he or she is over 18 inches long and 5 1/4 pounds(let’s hope and pray!)…size of a honeydew melon!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 33 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: I’ve slept really well this week!

Best moment this week: Seeing our sweet little baby!

Movement: Still lots of movement, which if it’s such a big baby I don’t know how it has room for this.

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really. Still love the sweet tea with lemon but I’m cutting that out. I was only having one a day but doc wants me to steer away from sweets completely to try and keep the baby from putting on too much weight. So I’m watching everything that I put in my mouth. It’s only a couple of weeks…I CAN do this!

Gender: Don’t have a clue!

Labor signs: Nope.

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: My sweet little niece’s first birthday party tomorrow!

Ultrasound-Big Baby!

We had our ultrasound yesterday. It seems that we may have a big baby after all! I don’t know about all that. After getting all the measurements the ultrasound tech told me that most likely the weight she was about to tell me was “off” and that the baby was more than likely smaller than this…6 pounds and 2 ounces! She said she thinks closer to 5 1/2 pounds. I think I about died when she said that! I will only be 35 weeks tomorrow! She switched the ultrasound over to 3D just for fun and man oh man…it looks JUST LIKE Peyton! I don’t have any pictures because they charge $150 for the 3D ultrasound but here…pey5

That’s Peyton and exactly what it looks like anyway! haha!

We also learned that baby LURVES to suck on it’s toes and hands. TOES and feet were in it’s face the whole time! Very talented child as per the u/s tech! :)

She also took a 3D pic of a foot and it’s feet are already 3 INCHES long. Go ahead and pull your ruler out. What. So now I think it’s a boy.

And then I think back over my pregnancy and think it’s a girl.

So, I’m 50/50 straight down the middle and can’t wait to be surprised!

As far as the baby being big, my doctor said we’ll just do another ultrasound closer to time to check it out again and go from there. I’m VERY anxious about this. And hoping that it doesn’t get too big because I am TERRIFIED of the c-word.

34 Weeks!

DSC_0637 How far along: 34 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to the Pregnant Chicken

“Wow your baby is about five pounds now so if you wanted to get an idea of what it would be like to have him or her on this side of your belly, simply carry around a bag of sugar, don’t shower for two days and keep asking your husband if he thinks what ‘the baby’ is doing is normal or should you call the doctor. That should give you an idea of what the first few weeks are like with an infant.”

Yea, pretty much! And I’m feeling every bit of those 5 pounds right now! It’s also about 18 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: Don’t know, not weighing anymore unless I’m at the doc!

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Meh again this week! I was up a lot again on Sunday night. What is it with Sunday’s and no sleep? The other nights sleep is ok. I guess. Not really. But it’s what I expect at this point.

Best moment this week: This right here…

IMG_20130314_123101 She had field trip to the park yesterday for a picnic so I stopped by. Man, I love my little sidekick! She’s going to be the best big sister ever!

Movement: Oh yes. Lots of dancing and hiccups that you can see from the outside and all that jazz!

Food cravings/aversions: I was craving pecan pie! I found a recipe for a pecan pie cobbler and made it Sunday. Ohhh emmm geee! It was SO good! And I just need sweet tea once a day. WITH lemon!

Gender: Don’t know. But what I DO know is that it’s a Landon or Avery! :)

Labor signs: Nope. But baby’s been head down for a long time now and seems to be gravitating lower. Yay!

Belly button in or out: In. Yes in still.

What I am looking forward to: I’m excited about our ultra sound on Wednesday! And I’m excited for a beautiful and WARM(75ish!!) weekend!

Hopefully I can share nursery pictures soon! I’ve changed my mind on things so many times there’s no telling how it will look when I’m done. I am mainly just waiting on something for the wall that will hopefully be done soon!

And let me tell y’all a little something about my POTTY MOUTH!!! It’s bad. Things are just flying out of my mouth that I haven’t said in years! HAHA!

Friday, March 8, 2013

33 Weeks!

DSC_0635 How far along: 33 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to the Pregnant Chicken

“Your baby is pretty close to being finished growing lengthwise, but it will do some serious beefing up over the next seven weeks. Many sites compare your baby to a pineapple now, which sounds like the most uncomfortable thing to be carrying in your body aside from maybe a ball of barbed wire and broken glass. Your soft, beautiful baby is around 17 inches long and about 4.5 lbs.”

If you are pregnant you should sign up for her weekly emails! She is super fun!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 31 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Meh. I was up all night Sunday night, then I slept really good a few nights.

Best moment this week: My nurse telling me I only gained 1 pound in two weeks! Haha!

Movement: All the time. Y’all know this! I really think this baby is long. We’ll see!

Food cravings/aversions: Bread. The insides of Panera bread to be exact!

Gender: Don’t know! BUT my little gender predicting nephew has said it’s a girl since the day he found out I was pregnant until today! Now he says boy! ;)

Labor signs: Nope.

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: An extra ultrasound in two weeks! The more I think about the “measuring big” thing the more I think the dr. just measured wrong. He was a student. But that’s ok because we’ll get an extra peek at the little one!

Thursday, March 7, 2013

The Countdown is ON!

We are getting SUPER excited about the baby! 50 short days until my due date!

FIFTY!

So really in 40-something days we will have a baby! For real! A baby to love and hug and kiss and cuddle and smell and kiss it’s wittle nose and HOG! ;)

Can.Not.Wait!

So, we have this board in our kitchen. It’s like a cork board on crack. It’s huge. And it’s the perfect place to display the kids art work, etc. instead of it being on the refrigerator. Only thing is the boys don’t have a lot of art work that they are bringing home these days and I don’t want to just fill it up with Reece’s fabulous art. Cue a baby countdown, complete with paper chain! :)

20130219_18101420130307_070258 They take turns tearing off a link per day. I put the ultrasound pictures on there along with a few pictures that you’ve seen on here. The one from right after I told Josh, the one where we told the kids and the ones with their Big Brother/Big Sister outfits. It’s a fun little project to help keep the kids involved with how much longer we have to go!

In other news, I had a doctor’s appointment today. I have only gained a pound since I was there two weeks ago! YAY! At my last appointment, I was measuring a little ahead of schedule. Well today I was measuring a whole week AND a day ahead. I’ll be 33 weeks tomorrow and I’m measuring 34 weeks. When I go back in two weeks we’ll do an ultrasound to find out if it’s extra fluid or a big baby. Meanwhile, I am trying not to freak my freakin freak. Big baby? What the what? The other three were 7 pounders!

AND another ultrasound=another temptation to find out what the baby is! I will not cave but it will be hard! :)

32 Weeks!

DSC_0633

My sweet girl has the flu so she’s been with me at the office all week! Love my little helper!

How far along: 32 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, baby weighs 3.75 pounds(like a large jicama-what?) and is about 16.7 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 30 pounds I’m sure. Haven’t weighed.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Um. I don’t know. It’s either good or it’s bad.

Best moment this week: Surviving! HA!

Movement: This part is SO fun! It looks like there’s an alien in my stomach trying to burst out! HAHA!

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really. FOOD!

Gender: I’m leaning toward girl again!

Labor signs: Lots of Braxton-Hicks this week. I’m sure it’s from everything that’s been going on. My doctor warned me a week ago that this may happen since this is my fourth baby! He said they may even get as bad as making me feel like I am in true labor. Goody!

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: Sleep and rest tomorrow!

And here’s my 31 week picture since I didn’t get to post last Friday!DSC_0630

New Chicks!

Josh and I have been talking about getting some new baby chicks for a few weeks. My only hesitation was that I was hoping to squeeze in one more beach trip with the kids before the baby comes. I have finally decided that that is not going to happen.

My hormones are raging again. I’m nesting like a mad woman, like washing the wall behind the dryer nesting. Fun times. I got mad at the vacuum cleaner on Saturday and threw it in the trash. Josh and I had a date Saturday night and I was like, “oh by the way, when I got mad at the vacuum earlier today I chunked it.” HAHA!

Yesterday we decided that we better go and buy a new one. You know, since I’m nesting and all. Heaven forbid I NEED the vacuum and not have one! We also decided to run by Tractor Supply to get some chicken feed. As soon as we walked in the door Josh could hear the little chirps! ;) All I could hear were Griffin, Peyton and Reece as I waddled from behind everyone else! As soon as Hubby told me he heard the chicks there was not even any discussion about whether or not we would be leaving with a few!

The very first thing that caught my eye were these CUTE LITTLE DUCKS!!! Oh my word. The kids BEGGED, I mean BEGGED LIKE THEY NEVER HAVE BEFORE to get ducks. I really think we should and will stick to chickens! Maybe.20130217_151848 Apparently you don’t have to have a pond or large body of water to have ducks. But the chickens serve a purpose…what purpose do ducks serve besides the cuteness?!

So we ended up with these six! I cropped out the poop, you’re welcome!20130217_153955  And here they are all settled into their new home!20130217_164732

The chickens really have been a fun adventure for us as a family! The most fun thing for me is watching them fight over grasshoppers! ;)

30 Weeks!!

DSC_0625

A. Holy cow. I’m huge.

B. I promise that my shirt is clean, that spot is on my camera lens! Oops!

How far along: 30 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, baby weighs 3 pounds(like a head of cabbage) and is about 15.7 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 27 pounds…probably more, that was last weeks number!

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: It’s ok as long as I don’t have heartburn!

Best moment this week: My best moment this week comes from Griffin. He totally caught me off guard with this one. “Hey Mom, do you poop when you’re pregnant?” Y’all!! I about died! I told him yes and he said,”Well, I’m just worried you’re gonna poop the baby out!” HAHAHA! I guess that’s the only logical place a 10 year old would think the baby comes out.

Movement: Yep, lots still!

Food cravings/aversions: Peanut Butter.

Gender: Your guess is as good as mine!

Labor signs: Braxton-Hicks that’s all.

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: Josh and I have a date tomorrow night! YAY!

Friday, February 8, 2013

29 Weeks!

Picture to come!

How far along: 29 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, baby weighs 2 1/2 pounds(like a butternut squash) and is a little over 15 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 27 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Sleep was pretty good this week overall.

Best moment this week: Last night Reece finally saw my tummy moving around while the baby was moving. Her face was priceless!

Movement: Still lots of moving around. I noticed about a week ago that the baby seemed to be head down, my doctor was able to confirm that yesterday! Yay!

Food cravings/aversions: Chocolate and Skittles. Not together.

Gender: Don’t know! Reece has FOR SURE decided that it’s a girl. Peyton thinks so too! Griff wants a boy but hasn’t said what he thinks it is! :) Big Mama thinks we know what it is and just aren’t telling her! haha!

Labor signs: Braxton-Hicks that’s all.

Belly button in or out: Still in! Mine usually doesn’t come out.

What I am looking forward to: Getting the nursery finished! I need that off my plate!

My doctor’s appointment went well yesterday. Going every two weeks makes the pregnancy fly by even more fast! I’m kinda sad that I will never be pregnant again after this is over, but I’m WAY glad too! Can I just say that I don’t see how obese people function? I’m 27 pounds heavier than my normal self and it’s hard to get around and do things, I can’t imagine being hundreds of pounds overweight all the time.

Sometimes I wonder how on earth I get through days. Like yesterday…it was a whirlwind of a day. Peyton had a doctor’s appointment at 9:30, then I had to leave there and rush to my appointment at 11:00(very bad scheduling on my part!), then back to work to catch up for the day, when I got off work Reece and I headed to Walmart to get groceries. When I got home Josh was asleep because  he worked the night before and went to the doctor’s appointment with me and Peyton so I  put groceries away, feed the  kids, bathed the kids, made the kids read and put the kids to bed. And ended with Grey’s Anatomy! I don’t know how I survived all that 7 months pregnant! But I did and now I need a nap! ;)

What not to say to the pregnant lady…

First of all, Hubby got the baby’s room painted TWICE this weekend! YAY! The paint that we originally bought ended up looking light blue on the walls soooooo he painted again. Now it’s gray! Yes, I know he’s awesome!

I was just thinking about things that people say to me that drive me bonkers! Yes, there’s a list!

*”Oh you’re not finding out the gender? WHY?”(in their rude voice) I really want to answer, “Just to make you ask why.” Ugh. And, by the way, this was something I wanted to do since Reece was a baby so we’re not just doing this because everyone else seems to be doing it now.

*”Are you SURE there aren’t two in there?” This one REALLY gets me. And bless Big Mama, y’all know she’s one of my favorite people, but she says this to every.pregnant.person she knows!

*”YOU’RE HUGE!” Oh thanks for noticing. “And your BOOBS!” Yes, that too, would you like to have them?

*”Are you sure you don’t have your “dates” off?” For the love of all things holy. This is not 1982. There are ultrasounds to verify dates and I know when I had sex. Thankyouverymuch. Annoys me to NO end!

*”Y’all want FOUR KIDS??!!” I mean, what am I supposed to say to that. Actually we only want four biologically.

These are just things that I hear from people almost daily! There are plenty of other things too! Watch your words people, the closer I get to April 26th, the meaner I will be! ;)

28 Weeks!

DSC_0617 How far along: 28 Weeks, Hellloooooo third trimester!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, it weighs 2 1/4 pounds(Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 26 pounds. Didn’t gain any this week. I don’t know how!

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: I sleep really well for the first few hours that I’m asleep and then I kind of sleep on and off the rest of the night. Annoying. I know I can take a Tylenol PM or Benadryl but I’m not that annoyed. Yet.

Best moment this week: Watching my belly roll around!

Movement: I am beginning to prepare myself for Griffin #2! This little baby is SO SO SO active.

Food cravings/aversions: Today it’s orange juice! Oh so good!

Gender: Nope, still haven’t caved!

Labor signs: Still just Braxton-Hicks.

Belly button in or out: In, trying to flatten.

What I am looking forward to: It’s Nursery weekend at our house! I can NOT wait for it all to come together!

27 Weeks!

DSC_0586 How far along: 27 Weeks! Last week of my second trimester! Yikes!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, he or she weighs almost 2 pounds(head of cauliflower) and measures 14  1/2 inches.

Total weight gain/loss: Up 26 pounds. More than I would like? Yes. Do I care right now? No.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Some nights it’s good, some I don’t sleep a wink! I’m not uncomfortable yet, just can’t sleep.

Best moment this week: Spending time alone with the sweetest man on the planet, celebrating Peyton’s birthday! And sharing baby kicks with everyone in the house! :)

Movement: Lots of rolling, hiccupping and dancing around!

Food cravings/aversions: Not really craving anything too much, not enough for me to remember anyway. Greek Yogurt turned into ranch dip is pretty fab!

Gender: Don’t know. It’s hard. But I’m stubborn!

Labor signs: Still just Braxton-Hicks.

Belly button in or out: In, trying to flatten.

What I am looking forward to: Peyton’s party tomorrow, getting the baby’s room painted!

I had a doctor’s appointment yesterday. It was glucose test day. I really don’t know why people make such a big deal out of drinking that drink. I’ve done it 4 times, it’s sweet but it’s tolerable for sure. I don’t have my results yet. My doctor had an emergency before my appointment so that put him super behind. I was there for two hours. By the time I saw him the only thing I remembered to talk to him about was my heart. I don’t think I’ve said a lot about it here but it’s doing the same thing it did when I was pregnant with Peyton, it basically races a lot. It doesn’t feel good, but I have learned to manage it…I can just change positions and make it stop, and it only lasts for about a minute if that. Dr. said blood volume is at it’s peak right now and that may be causing it, if it lasts about 5 minutes to head to the ER. I’m not concerned.

My next appointment is in TWO weeks! I can not believe I’m already that far along! I’m SO excited and SO overwhelmed to get the baby’s room done…like NOW. :)
