As I was cleaning this morning I started thinking about Mike Rowe. Seriously. I know that sounds weird, but it's true!
Think about it.
Being a mom is the most dirtiest job EVER!!!! When children are babies, they poop, pee and spit up on you. And when those babies are teeny tiny you catch pee in your hands(or in your face if they are boys!) when you change their diapers because almost everytime you open that diaper they go. When they get to toddler-hood you try to catch their puke in your hand because they don't know to go to the toilet and it's just a reaction for you. When potty training comes around they pee AND poop in their clothes...guess who gets to clean THAT up!?And if you are a momma to boys you get EXTRA points because they pee EVERRRRRYYYYWHERE...in the toilet, on the toilet, around the toilet, on the floor by the toilet, down the shower curtain, down the cabinet......I wish they knew how to control that thing! Kids make a mess when they eat, even when they try not to. They make a mess when they take a bath. They spit toothepaste everywhere. They pick their nose and wipe boogers on you when you aren't looking. Just to name a few...ha!
Don't get me wrong, I LURVE my dirty job, it just needs to get the credit it deserves!
Mike, call me!

Oh Baby!
Keltie made her grand entrance! She was born yesterday at 2:24 weighing in at 7 pounds and was 19.5 inches long! Oh and she has a head FULL of red hair! I don't think they've figured out where that came from yet! ha! Allison and I went to visit a little while ago and they had the baby in the nursery for the doctor to check her out so we didn't get to hold her! We're going back tonight and hopefully we'll get to see her close up! I have a few pics that her Mimi emailed me!
I LOVE this one! Big Sister Addison giving Baby Sister love!

Meow!
I've been thinking for a couple of weeks about getting a cat. I just want one. Josh doesn't really want us to get one but, I usually get my way. We'll see! I started looking for one yesterday, I guess that's when I officially decided for sure that I wanted one. I got my sister to call around and she found a nice little kitty, black and white. So I called the hubs and he said that we needed to think about it more. huh? What's there to think about? It's a cute little free kitty! So, I agreed and tried to figure out all afternoon how I was going to talk him into it!
Fast foward a couple of hours to when Allison and I were leaving work for the day. As we were walking though the office out the door, we heard a cat meow! That is not too unusual around here because we have a ton of cats that hang around our office. We started walking towards our cars...I got almost to my car and was stunned to see what was sitting there looking at me!!!!!!
It had the prettiest blue eyes! It was just sitting there, under my tire!
If that's not a sign I don't know what is!! I think it may have been the neighbors' cat, so I put it on their porch. I would have taken it had it not been covered, I mean COVERED in fleas!
Here's to hoping the hubby gives in to his favorite wife! hee hee

By the way, Baby Keltie is taking her sweet time! It may be tonight or tomorrow before I get to see her and post pics!

Time is Flying!
Is it just me or has this year flown by? I mean, it's the end of August! I need to start planning Griffin's 7th birthday party! Wow, that was hard to type!
It seems like yesterday that Donna came to our office and told us that she had another grandbaby on the way......baby Keltie will be here tomorrow!!!!! That was the fastest pregnancy ever! I can't wait to meet and hold that sweet little one! I will post some pics hopefully tomorrow! If she is anything like her big sister she'll be here fast! :)
My sister's pregnancy is flying by too! We find out on September 25th what the baby will be! I'm so excited! Josh and I are convinced it's a girl! And we can't wait to tell Brad and Allison, "We told you so!" hee hee! 'Cause that's what brothers and sisters do ya know!
I wish I could make things slow down a bit! I try to absorb every little moment but that's very hard to do these days!

Beachin' It
Hubby and I just got back from the beach...alone! That means with NO kids! It was fantabulous! We drove down on Friday...well, I drove while he snored...I mean slept most of the way. I like having quiet driving time to myself so it worked out. I listened to my boyfriend jam on the radio(Darius, duh!) and tried not to make too many potty stops! It was raining off and on when we got down there but, a rainy day at the beach is better than a sunny day at home, right?! So, we ate and shopped for a new bathing suit for me...which is HELL for me! No joke. Nothing fits me. EVER.
We spent Saturday on the beach. ALL day! It was so much fun to just sit there and talk about stuff(and people who's name we won't mention here!) and not have to watch kids..even though we ended up watching someone else's. If you've been reading our blog for a while you know that our favorite restaurant down there, Bayside Grill, closed down last year. Not sure why because they were ALWAYS packed! A new restaurant called Fat Backs opened up in the same place so we decided to try it that night. Not so great. It just made us miss Bayside that much more! Oh what I would give for some Black Bean Soup, Coconut Fried Shrimp and some Bread Pudding right now!!!!
We ate breakfast at Tacky Jacks Sunday morning and then headed back out to the beach for a while where we were entertained by several dolphins. There were at least 20 of them. I have never seen so many together other than on TV. They were jumping completely out of the water, slapping their tails around and just gorgeous! After that we headed back to the house to clean up and head home to our babies! We missed them SO much!

One Question.
Why is it that Peyton thinks he can convince us(Me and Josh) that he wasn't the one doing blah blah when I have a note from the teacher stating so????? Is it because his nickname is Master P??(No, we don't call him that in real life! What are you thinking?ha!) He got in trouble at school yesterday for not minding--imagine that! and for playing when they got to the playground instead of going straight to time-out. He spent a very long time in time-out when he got home because he was really trying to convince us that his teacher was nuts and it wasn't him it was Jordan.
"Peyton, we have a note from Mrs. A. We know what you did!" We said that statement right there about 557 times! No lie!
And, I know I said One Question, but this is MY blog! How can he be a perfect angel one day...he got a WOW card the day before(which they only get if they are SUPER good) and a hellian the next day???? I am confused.
He best be on green light today. That's all I've got to say!

Cute Shoes!
I am very picky about my kids clothes and shoes. Almost too picky! I just found Reece the cutest shoes at a local gift shop to wear during football season! Actually I didn't find them, my mom did and she pointed me in their direction! They will be so cute with her houndstooth dresses!
Sweetness! They are those sqeaky shoes, but you can take the sqeaky out....and I WILL be taking it out!

A First Grader & A Kindergartener!!
Sigh. Whatever.
Why do they have to grow so fast?! Really, it was just yesterday that we found out we would be having boys 15 months apart! Now they are 5 & 6, almost 6 & 7. I'm sad!
This morning went pretty well! Josh was still at work and was not going to be home in time for the morning rush so I set my alarm for way earlier than normal so that I would have extra time...and ended up being rushed anyway! It all worked out in the end and the boys were close to the first ones in their classes. Allison came and picked up Reece and took her to school...it was much easier not having to carry her around while I was getting the boys settled!
I walked Griffin to his room first and he jumped right in and got to work. It's not gonna be long before he makes me leave my camera at home! Then I walked Peyton to his room. He already knows exactly where to go! He walked right in, said hello to his teacher and waved bye to me! Ahhh! He could have cared less that I was leaving! I'm glad because if he would have been clingy, it would have been so hard to leave! I started to tear up a little when I was walking out of his room, but across the hall is one of my favorite people ever(Griff's teacher from last year) and she quickly cheered me up! As I was leaving the school I started feeling a little sad and then I remembered something very important!!!!!! NO MORE DAYCARE FOR PEYTON! Which also means that our daycare bill each month has been almost cut in half! Whooo hooo!!!
And, ummm, Baby Girl looks like me today and I am REAL excited about that!
xoxo
One more thing!!!! I would like to direct you attention here because I am in total agreement with this post. I started a post and it pretty much read the same way so there you go!

I'm better, thanks!
I've slowed down a tad bit but, now I am anxious about the boys starting school tomorrow! We went to open house yesterday. It was crowded and hot! We met both teachers and that made me feel a little better. And it helps that Griffin and Peyton are excited now! A first grader AND a kindergartener???!!!
We went to Josh's parents' house Saturday night for a surprise birthday party for Thomas(Josh's uncle). There were a ton of people there and it was fun! When it was time for cake Paw Paw(Josh's Dad) came out dressed as the grim reaper! It was too funny! The kids swam and swam..they were worn out! Reece is a little water bug...she is not scared AT ALL of the water.
The kicker of the whole day came as we were driving home. Josh was driving and he had the cruise control set on 70 mph. The speed limit was 65 mph. We were just chit chatting when all of a sudden there were blue lights behind us!!! Oh my! And then my responsible police officer of a husband turned to me and said, "I don't even have my license!" I said, "WHAT?!" I quickly turned around to make sure the boys were still buckled, gave them the "mommy look" and told them they better not say a WORD when that officer came to the window! Thankfully we both have police license plates on our cars and as soon as the state trooper came up to the window he asked Josh where he works. Josh told him where he worked and that he didn't have his license. The trooper just told us to have a great night. Josh stopped him and asked him why he pulled us over. He said that we were going 72mph. Soooo, I guess my speedometer is off! As soon as Josh rolled the window up Griffin screamed from the back, "I pooted!!" Now that's funny!
Even with the hubs being a cop, it still freaked my freak to get pulled over! ha!
Griffin, Peyton and Reece were in the pool when the grim reaper made his appearance and didn't even notice. Elaina??? She no lika!!!
Peyton: Just chillin with my lil sis!
Reece: Hey Pey, want to get Dad to turn us in circles real fast and give Mom a heart attack??
Peyton: Oh yea!!
Griffin makes a pretty mean canonball!
Check out THAT icing!
Griff thought his ice cream would do the same! Not so much!
Janna and her friend chunking Elaina in the pool! AND giving her momma a heart attack!
I LOVED that Griff had Eliza there to dish it right back to him! :)
OK, so it looks like she is in there by herself...but she's not!

Sadly, this is the only pic I got of the birthday boy! He was popping balloons while we were singing Happy Birthday!

Proof!
Told ya'll I was stretched thin!
Reece still gets up at least one time at night. She goes right back to sleep, but if Josh is at work I always call and check on him. Well, last night around 1:00am Reece woke up. I got up and plopped down on the couch to call Josh. I dialed the number and the person that answered sounded weird and asked me what was wrong. HUH? I always call you about this time is what I was thinking! After waking up a little more I realized that I had called my mom's house!!!! It was Doug that answered. Poor thing...I woke him from a deep sleep and scared him to death!!!!
I feel so bad! Needless to say I have GOT to slow down! I don't know how that's going to happen!

Whew!
Overwhelmed??? Just a tad.
I don't even know where to begin! We've been so busy I can't even think straight! Be warned that this post is full of randomness!(is that even a word?!)
Work has been super duper busy. The first of the month is the busiest time for me and the whole office for that matter. That added to the fact that we have a new employee to get trained=no time to think! I seriously looked up and it was Friday!
Home has been just as busy! Monday night Josh had court. Tuesday night I had bunco. Wednesday night I HAD to go to the grocery store. Thursday night I don't even remember! Tonight....NOTHING! Saturday night-- family birthday party. Sunday afternoon--open house for the boys. Monday--something I can't remember. Tuesday--school starts(AND I have a mental breakdown!) Next Thursday my friend Jamie's little boy, Huston, is having a minor surgery...his first birthday party is next Saturday at the same time of my niece's 2nd birthday party!!! How's THAT gonna work??!?!?
Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeech! Brakes please!

I shouldn't be eating this!
Fried Pickles. I'm addicted. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right?! When I was pregnant with Baby Girl, Josh and I went to the mountains for our anniversary...it was there that I REALLY became a fan! So when we got back home, I played around with different things until I found the PERFECT recipe.
Ingredients:
1 Egg
1/2 - 1 cup milk
Zatarains seasoned fish fry-Crispy Southern Style-be SURE to use this exact same one!!
Pickles-I use the hamburger chips, but I have used others
Take as many pickles as you want to fry out of the jar and let them drain a little on some paper towels...don't pat them dry! Mix your milk and egg in a bowl. Dump some of the fish fry onto a plate. If you want to be lazy, you can just put it in a bag...but I'm telling you, they don't taste as good!!!! Put some of the pickles in the milk/egg mixture, coating them. Pick them out one by one and drop them in the fish fry, coating them again. Then you'll just put them in the fry basket. Continue this over and over until you get them all in the basket. Deep fry them at about 350 degrees...and it doesn't take long at all....a couple of minutes. We usually eat them with ranch dressing.
You're welcome!
Next time I'll post a healthy recipe...I'm pretty sure I just clogged your arteries!
