Barnyard Fun!

The weather around here has been AMAZING for the last week! It’s been in the 70’s and just beautiful. We decided to take the kiddos to The Barnyard on Saturday. They aren’t always open to the public so when I heard they would be, we snagged the chance to go! I’m so glad we did! We had the best time playing with all the animals and they have lots of new babies right now. Y’all know how much I love babies, furry or human! :)

Friendliest little baby goat EVER!IMG_0608 IMG_0610 IMG_0611 IMG_0613 IMG_0614 IMG_0615 IMG_0616 IMG_0617 IMG_0619 This sweet little lamb was trying SO hard to figure out how to get back in there with her momma! IMG_0622 Some of these pictures were taken with my good camera and some with the camera that the kids throw around…I can definitely tell! HUGE difference in color and quality! I think that camera was our favorite/best investment so far!

Peyton’s PTO Performance!

Last week Petyon’s class performed at his school’s PTO meeting. And he had a speaking part! :) He was so excited and did a great job! We didn’t have very good seats but thankfully his teacher took pictures and I stole them off of her blog!

Peyton PTO 2

He’s the one posing on the left! :)Peyton PTO The hubs made it home safe and sound last night! YAY for that. Boo that I got sick yesterday. I don’t know what the deal was, I was super nauseous in the afternoon to the point where I had to leave work. By the time I got home I was achy all over and had a fever. I didn’t sleep well last night, but now I feel fine. Weird.

Tomorrow we are planning a trip to The Barnyard! Can’t wait!

That single parenting thing…

I told y’all I sucked at it! It wasn’t 10 minutes after I posted that last post when Reece was eating her Valentine candy. I never keep candy in the house so when they get it they go a little crazy with it! So, she had about 5 pieces of candy when I decided that was enough. I was perched on the couch and she was standing in front of me opening a sucker.
Conversation went a little something like this…

“Baby I think you’ve had enough candy for tonight. Let’s let that sucker be the last piece for tonight, ok?”

Y’all she looked at me with out hesitation cut those cute little blue eyes up at me and said…

“No.”

I usually can hold myself together but she just had this look on her face and it just caught me off guard and I LAUGHED AT HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But she still didn’t get anymore candy!

Sweet Valentines!

I love my little valentines! And I especially love my big valentine! :) Josh and I usually don’t “do” Valentine’s Day but this year he surprised me by being at my office when I got to work(he had just gotten off work). He had a sweet gift and a super sweet letter he wrote me that had me crying like a baby!

The kids made sweet things for me at school and Griffin wrote the sweetest little note in his:

“You are the purterest(prettiest) gal ever cuse(because) you are so nice to me. Thank you for all you have done for me i relly(really) aprecate(appreciate) it. you and dad are the nicest people in the world i am serus(serious)!”

How sweet was that? I AM a good mom! :)

Last night Officer Hubby had to go out of town for work. He and a few other officers from here are taking some classes at the beach! I’m jealous. And if you are a stalker and thinking about kidnapping me or scaring the crap out of me just remember that I have a 100 pound Doberman and a gun. And I know how to use them. BOTH of them. At the same time. Go away!

Hubs will be back in a few days, until then I’m a single mom. I suck at it! Mainly because I’m lonely and miss my nightly foot rub! ha!

Snow!!

I thought the globe was warming? This has been the coldest, snowiest winter I can remember!

We FINALLY got some snow last night! It seems like all winter it’s been snowing everywhere but here. We’ve had ice and a little bit of snow, but nothing worth playing in. After all the threats of snow we’ve had this year, most of us were wondering if it would really happen. It did!

But our school system did not close today nor open late. :( A few weeks ago they closed an extra day for the ice we had and didn’t really need to be closed but today they could have delayed so that the kids could play a little! I was pretty ticked, especially with us having all the snow forecasts and not getting any..the kiddos kept getting excited and let down! Now that we really got snow they weren’t going to be able to play in it!

So, they checked in school late today! :)

You gotta live a little!

We most definitely were not the only ones with this plan! My facebook is covered with parents saying they are doing the same thing!

Now I’m ready for spring! I do not like cold weather!

Catch up!

Today I want to play catch up on my blog! This post has a week+ of things that I meant to post about last week and never got the chance!

So, put your seatbelt on!

We made these yummy treats! And I’m not going to lie. The kids drove me NUTS when we were working on them. To the point where I had to finish them myself because they were arguing and arguing and whining and whining…ugh. It was not pretty. I love my babies more than anything but I would be lying if I said that they didn’t drive me bonkers every now and then :) DSC_2254 DSC_2255 DSC_2257

I think it’s pretty self explanatory how we/I made them!

Last weekend was gorgeous around here! It was in the upper 60’s and we stayed outside most of the weekend. We ventured down to my granddad’s farm where the boys got to feed a baby calf! This doesn’t happen very often because usually the mommy cows are good with their babies but this one wasn’t!DSC_2263 DSC_2258 DSC_2259 DSC_2261

You can’t tell as well as I thought but there are about 20 little calves out there right now! That makes me SUPER excited because that means spring really is coming!!! I hate cold weather!

Speaking of babies…I was watching one of those shows on Animal Planet the other day..can’t remember the name..something about a zoo??? Anyway, one of the elephants was about to give birth. I thought they wouldn’t show it all but oh my word they did! I sat there with my jaw on the floor for about 5 minutes!!! It was amazing and scary(and I’ve done it three times…well, not elephants)!

Back on task…

I promised y’all that i would explain how I made that rainbow cake back in September…well truth be told, I just made another one yesterday that’s why I haven’t posted about it!

You mix a cake according to the directions on the box. Then divide the batter equally into six bowls or how ever many different colors you want. I used styrofoam bowls for easy clean up..I guess I should think about going green! I have three kids people give me a break!

DSC_2265

Then you just add food coloring to make whatever colors you want…

DSC_2266

Then one by one you pour the batter from each bowl into your cake pan/pans. I used a bundt pan this time because it has heart shapes on the top…never again! It turned out ugly!DSC_2271

But the inside was still pretty!DSC_2273

I think I’m going to try cupcakes next time! Fun!

So I think I’m caught up! The boys went to lunch with the Alabama baseball players on Saturday with Josh’s parents and had a blast! I’ll get them to send me pictures so I can post them on here!

xoxo and no more Gigi’s cupcakes for a while,

Peyton’s Party Pics!

You just tried to say that three times fast, didn’t you?! ha!

Peyton’s birthday party was SO much fun. For the kids AND the grown-ups! :) He had several of his friends from school there and they just had the best time! I only had to let the momma claws come out one time because they were being too rough around the little ones…I consider that good because it was a full house!

Big Mama and P!DSC_2100 That’s me and Reece!DSC_2108 My sweet little niece slid down the ladder! heehee!DSC_2115 Griff being Griff!DSC_2129 The Birthday Boy was SERIOUS about the sword game!DSC_2141 Sweet friends sliding…DSC_2145 DSC_2146 DSC_2150And Paw Paw sliding!DSC_2148 DSC_2158 My sweet baby nephew lurves ice cream!DSC_2161 DSC_2164 DSC_2165 DSC_2167 Peyton got a special book from Gigi, Papa, Kelsie and Kody! It’s one of those books where you record yourself reading the story! He loves it!DSC_2190DSC_2177I can’t believe Peyton is 7! I really miss the days when my baby boys were little! Don’t get me wrong, I love that they are self sufficient but I miss the hectic early days!

After the party we went home and crashed. Well, Josh went to work..the rest of us crashed! And I woke up at 3 the next morning with the stomach bug! NOT fun. Thankfully it was short lived and I was better by the afternoon!

My Gigi cupcake count is only at 3! I’m pretty proud of myself! ha! Red Velvet is the best so far!
