You make me smile like the Sun!

I had every intention on posting pictures yesterday. But then I just got lazy. And after I started looking through the pictures I decided that most of them were not going on here! ha! We took about 75 pictures of the two of us and in 74 of them we were laughing so hard we were crying! Fun times!

We discovered a new restaurant, Calypso Joe’s. Super Yummy! We went twice. Like, sold out on going to Sea-n-Suds to go back! I’m telling you…yummo! We got Cuban Nachos as an appetizer both times and oh my word! They didn’t have a whole lot on them…just pork, cheese, and sour cream…I didn’t think they would be good with pork…ha ha ha. And I don’t like sour cream either! But they mix lime juice in with the sour cream and gee whiz. I could have stuck my face in the plate. Words can’t do it justice.

And just when we thought we found a new spot, Josh’s parents were down the week before we were and REALLY found our new spot! :) One side of the road was a bay and the other side of the road was the beach. It was gorgeous and there was all kinds of wildlife and exploring to do! Right up my ally! Oh and we were the ONLY people there. It was like having our own private beach.

Law Abiding Citizen!

Josh and I had a fantastic weekend!! Let me just go ahead and say this…if you are trying to make the decision to go to the beach right now you should GO! There are plenty of places you can find that haven’t even seen oil. And how can you resist good food?!?!?! It’s not crowded and it’s paradise! GO!

Now back to me being a law abiding citizen.

We left late Friday afternoon. We decided I would drive down. I usually do…I love to drive down, I HATE to drive back! I ain’t gonna lie, it took me until about Thomasville to get chilled out! Once that happened, we were good to go. We got road food…you know, peanut M & M’s, gummy worms, pig skins, Mt. Dew, etc. I try not to speed too much, really I do. I’ve been on this trip so many times I know EXACTLY where I’ll get a ticket if I don’t slow down. Fast forward to Robertsdale. It’s about 30 minutes from the beach and the best speed trap I’ve ever seen in my ever lovin’ life! SMALLLLLL town. VERY easy to speed through and it’s worse because you’re so close to the beach and getting excited! We had only been in the car for 3 1/2 hours so that meant we were going make it down in about 4 hours! So we’re stopped at a traffic light(the one with all the flags for those of you who know!) and our conversation goes something like this….

ME: Babe, I really gotta pee!

Josh: Well, stop somewhere!

ME: No, I don’t like stopping when it’s dark and I don’t really know the area that well. Plus, I want to see how fast we can get there! Looks like it’s gonna be only 4 hours!(drive normally takes around 4 1/2)

And I proceeded to drive on my merry little way….UNTIL there were blue lights in my rear view mirror!

Heart sank…

ME: Babe, I’m getting pulled over!

Josh: OK.

ME: What do I do?

Josh: Pull over!

ME: Where?

Josh: Over in that parking lot would be best.

ME: NOOO, he’s gonna think I’m trying to run from him!! (this is SO freakin funny now! haha!)

Josh: well, ok.

So, I pulled over on a side street.

ME: Crap. Is he gonna know you are a cop?

Josh: No, give him my FOP card.(fraternal order of police)

ME: ok, is he gonna give me a ticket?

Josh: I don’t know, see what he says.

ME: OH CRAP! I’m goin to jail!

Officer Bill: Can I see your license?

I handed him my license, my proof of insurance and the fop card.

Officer Bill: You’re in law enforcement?!?

ME: No he is!(pointed to hubs)

Officer Bill: 51 in a 35!!!!

ME: I’m sorry!!!!(pouty lips)

Officer Bill to Josh: Some sort of cop talk I wasn’t listening.

Officer Bill: Where are you going?

ME: the beach.

Officer Bill: It’s still gonna be there when you get there!!!!

ME: I know, I’m sorry. (pouty lips again)

Now, you would think that with hubs being a cop and all I wouldn’t be nervous…I was shakin’ like a leaf on a tree!

Officer Bill: Well, slow down, k?

ME: ok, ok, ok.

And that my friends is how I got out of that speeding ticket because let me tell ya, you DON’T get out of speeding tickets in Robertsdale.

Thanks hubby!

I’ll post more on our trip tomorrow…with pictures and our new restaurant we found!

Gimmie a Break!

The Hubs and I are having a kid free weekend! Whoo hoo! I’m a teeny tiny bit excited! We’re going to the beach. We most definitely need a break…just to sit around and do nothing! Or maybe we’ll make out in the water for hours on end like our bachelorette, Ali! ha! Notsomuch.

In other news…the things that freak my freak the most are back…

I swear they sit around the office waiting for me to come outside and stand in the middle of the sidewalk daring for me to walk by so they can jump on me and eat me! Freakity!

Boyfwends

Yesterday when I picked Reece up from school she was playing with her buddy, Lawson. Sweet Lawson looked up at me and said,”Her my gulfwend.” HUH?!

So, on the way home I wanted to see what Reece would say about that!

Me: Reece did you play with Lawson a lot today?

Reece: Yes ma’am!

Me: Is Lawson your boyfriend?

Reece: Yes ma’am!

Me(freakin my freak a little!): Oh really?!?! You don’t kiss Lawson do you?

Reece: Mommy! Yawson is my boyfwend. I kiss him on da yips!

OH MY WORD! Here’s to baby #4 being another boy!!!!! Please.

Hopefully when she IS old enough to date the patrol car in the driveway will be enough to scare the boys away!!! I sure hope so because Daddy was NOT so happy about the yip kissing!

Griffin said

The other day Griffin came walking through the kitchen and said, “I’m in the mood for Pina Coladas!!”

I looked at him like he was nuts and laughed.

Then last night we were about to eat dinner and he said, “I’m in the mood for a Mt.Dew.”

Not sure where he’s coming up with all this….I make a heck of a pina colada but he’s definitely not allowed to have it! And I sure don’t let them have Mt. Dew!

Happy Monday!

Oh and I added some more of my favorite blogs!

Hodge Podge

I have got to get back to blogging! Just been in a funk I guess. I need to get back so that I won’t forget things like this past Friday night, for example. We were eating at Wing’s…just munching away on fried pickles when all of a sudden I knocked my entire glass of Mt. Dew over…most of the drink landed in my lap, the rest of it landed in my pickles :( And then I had to walk out of there looking like I peed in my pants! Thank goodness we had an awesome waitress! Here we are with three kids and the ADULT spills the drink.

I also need to not forget about Peyton stealing a pack of bubble gum on the way to or from-not sure which-the beach a few weeks ago and us not figuring it out for several days. Yep, the cops kid stole a pack of gum. Don’t think that’ll happen again.

I also need to remember that Peyton all but called me fat yesterday! I was playing Sims for the first time in forever because we got some sort of new version and I wanted to check it out. I was just sitting at the computer creating a character when Pey came up to me and said,”uhh mom, you are NOT that skinny!”

Excuse me while I go stick my finger down my throat!

Oh and Peyton also got clawed in the face by the cat a few weeks ago and we had to rush him to the doctor because it wouldn’t quit bleeding and almost had to be stitched up(or glued, it was RIGHT by his mouth!)

Let’s see….and that’s just Peyton’s news! I need to think on the other two, I’m sure they’ve done some things too! ha ha!

Wreck

If you haven’t heard the story, head over to Allison’s blog to read and see the pics!

When I got over to the other car to check on the driver I honestly thought she was dying! Right after the wreck Allison and I both glanced over where her car was and saw her slumped over the steering wheel. By the time I got to her she was laid back in between the driver and passenger seats. I didn’t want to touch so I yelled for her to wake up…she didn’t budge but I saw she was breathing. Luckily, some people stopped because I couldn’t stand there and watch her die. A man walked up and said he would stay with her. I ran back to get my sister and nephew out of the car just in case someone else wasn’t paying attention and rammed her car again. Once I knew they were fine, I walked back over to check on the other driver and she had come to. She was really upset and just kept saying, “I’m so sorry!” over and over and over. Then, once she realized Noah was in the car with us, she REALLY felt SO bad and starting just crying and crying! I tried to tell her he was fine but she was still upset. Even though it was her fault I still feel bad for her. I’m SURE she learned a lesson and has a headache still!

As for me, Al and Noah, we’re just peachy! Thank the Lord we were in that Expedition, because if we had been in her old car, we would not have been so lucky! We weren’t even really that sore…just had bad headaches!

And, y’all are gonna think I’m nuts but ever since we got those new cars I’ve have this gut feeling that one of us would wreck. Crazy I know, but so true!

I hope each and every one of you have a SAFE and happy 4th of July! It’s definitely one of my favorite holidays!
