36 Weeks!

HOW is this my 36 week post already?! This pregnancy has flown by SO fast!

DSC_0701

How far along: 36Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, he or she is “packing on the pounds”(that makes me cringe) and now weighs about 6 pounds(a crenshaw melon) and is 18 1/2 inches long! Gosh, Reece was only 19 inches when she was born!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 31 pounds. Lost 2 pounds in less than a week. Don’t tell Big Mama, she’ll have a speech for me! HAHA!

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: What’s that? Last night is the only night I’ve slept this week.

Best moment this week: Cuddling up with Hubby and falling asleep last night. He makes everything better. I’m sure that’s why I actually got some sleep last night.

Movement: Yes. And it’s starting to hurt!

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really. Well I want a lot of things, but right now I’m not allowing myself because most of it is sweet!

Gender: I have NO clue!

Labor signs: A few. I’ve had a lot of Braxton-Hicks this week as well as real contractions. Oh boy those babies will grab your attention!

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: Doctor’s appointment on Wednesday…hoping for a little progress! Oh and my birthday Monday! :) I would not be opposed to sharing my birthday with a little someone either!

Well, it’s official! I’m miserable. Especially at night. But, that’s ok…just keep swimming, right?!

35 Weeks!

DSC_0699

From the looks of this picture that baby is WAY high! Sure doesn’t feel like it! haha!

How far along: 35 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, he or she is over 18 inches long and 5 1/4 pounds(let’s hope and pray!)…size of a honeydew melon!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 33 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: I’ve slept really well this week!

Best moment this week: Seeing our sweet little baby!

Movement: Still lots of movement, which if it’s such a big baby I don’t know how it has room for this.

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really. Still love the sweet tea with lemon but I’m cutting that out. I was only having one a day but doc wants me to steer away from sweets completely to try and keep the baby from putting on too much weight. So I’m watching everything that I put in my mouth. It’s only a couple of weeks…I CAN do this!

Gender: Don’t have a clue!

Labor signs: Nope.

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: My sweet little niece’s first birthday party tomorrow!

Ultrasound-Big Baby!

We had our ultrasound yesterday. It seems that we may have a big baby after all! I don’t know about all that. After getting all the measurements the ultrasound tech told me that most likely the weight she was about to tell me was “off” and that the baby was more than likely smaller than this…6 pounds and 2 ounces! She said she thinks closer to 5 1/2 pounds. I think I about died when she said that! I will only be 35 weeks tomorrow! She switched the ultrasound over to 3D just for fun and man oh man…it looks JUST LIKE Peyton! I don’t have any pictures because they charge $150 for the 3D ultrasound but here…pey5

That’s Peyton and exactly what it looks like anyway! haha!

We also learned that baby LURVES to suck on it’s toes and hands. TOES and feet were in it’s face the whole time! Very talented child as per the u/s tech! :)

She also took a 3D pic of a foot and it’s feet are already 3 INCHES long. Go ahead and pull your ruler out. What. So now I think it’s a boy.

And then I think back over my pregnancy and think it’s a girl.

So, I’m 50/50 straight down the middle and can’t wait to be surprised!

As far as the baby being big, my doctor said we’ll just do another ultrasound closer to time to check it out again and go from there. I’m VERY anxious about this. And hoping that it doesn’t get too big because I am TERRIFIED of the c-word.

Our Famous Alabamian

Griffin’s class has been studying Alabama History. Last night at Leadership Night(awards night) at school they each dressed as a famous Alabamian and had a little wax museum! They were all dressed up as their famous Alabamian and they stood around in a pose. Everyone walked around and tapped them on the shoulder and they would tell you about their Alabamian! It was fun! But poor Griffin, that’s just NOT his thing! When he found out that he had to even do a presentation to the class on his Alabamian he was sick. He HATES to speak in front of people like that.  He even asked his teacher how bad it would hurt his grade if he just took a “0” on the assignment! Um no. Ha! Once he got his little speech written we rehearsed over and over and over and over! He had to say his speech in class Friday. He got up to do it and of course his classmates know how nervous he gets so they looked at each other and said, “Let’s just all turn around!!” So they all turned their backs and Griffin made his speech like a pro! :) His teacher wanted to cry and of course when she told us so did I!

Meet Joseph Wheeler!20130318_173334 He did great during the wax museum also! He kept looking at me when people would tap him because he kept forgetting parts of his speech. So I told him that no one would know if he messed up and just to keep on talking! He was better after that!

He was SO relieved once it was all over! He was bouncing around the house all night! haha!

We’re so proud of our sweet boy!

34 Weeks!

DSC_0637 How far along: 34 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to the Pregnant Chicken

“Wow your baby is about five pounds now so if you wanted to get an idea of what it would be like to have him or her on this side of your belly, simply carry around a bag of sugar, don’t shower for two days and keep asking your husband if he thinks what ‘the baby’ is doing is normal or should you call the doctor. That should give you an idea of what the first few weeks are like with an infant.”

Yea, pretty much! And I’m feeling every bit of those 5 pounds right now! It’s also about 18 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: Don’t know, not weighing anymore unless I’m at the doc!

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Meh again this week! I was up a lot again on Sunday night. What is it with Sunday’s and no sleep? The other nights sleep is ok. I guess. Not really. But it’s what I expect at this point.

Best moment this week: This right here…

IMG_20130314_123101 She had field trip to the park yesterday for a picnic so I stopped by. Man, I love my little sidekick! She’s going to be the best big sister ever!

Movement: Oh yes. Lots of dancing and hiccups that you can see from the outside and all that jazz!

Food cravings/aversions: I was craving pecan pie! I found a recipe for a pecan pie cobbler and made it Sunday. Ohhh emmm geee! It was SO good! And I just need sweet tea once a day. WITH lemon!

Gender: Don’t know. But what I DO know is that it’s a Landon or Avery! :)

Labor signs: Nope. But baby’s been head down for a long time now and seems to be gravitating lower. Yay!

Belly button in or out: In. Yes in still.

What I am looking forward to: I’m excited about our ultra sound on Wednesday! And I’m excited for a beautiful and WARM(75ish!!) weekend!

Hopefully I can share nursery pictures soon! I’ve changed my mind on things so many times there’s no telling how it will look when I’m done. I am mainly just waiting on something for the wall that will hopefully be done soon!

And let me tell y’all a little something about my POTTY MOUTH!!! It’s bad. Things are just flying out of my mouth that I haven’t said in years! HAHA!

Baby Names!

Praise the LORD, we finally have NAMES! Settling on a boy name was fairly easy. We knew we both still liked Brooks for a middle name(that was Reece’s middle name if she was a boy). After MUCH discussion we have decided that if it’s a boy his name is

Landon Brooks

We’ve had the boy name for a while now. Coming to an agreement on a girl name has been HARD. We both loved the name Landry(total coincidence that the boy name is Landon, kinda the same!) but couldn’t come up with any middle names that we really liked. Josh’s middle name is Brett(Joshua Brett) and so I REALLY wanted the name to be Landry Bret. Griffin has my middle name, Lee, so to me it’s only fitting that our last child have his middle name!

Except the hubs has to agree to the name and he wasn’t having it! We kind of were thinking Landry Kate for a little while and just weren’t in love with that. Probably because I REALLY wanted it to be Bret! haha! Then a week or so ago Hubs broke the news that he really didn’t like Landry anymore and he liked Avery better. And I immediately said, “Avery Bret?!” And he just looked at me like “um not really.” HAHA! And I had to think about Avery.

Shoots.

So about a week has passed and I decided that I really do like Avery Bret and I don’t know if Hubs is just tired of thinking of names or if he has decided that he really likes it or if he’s just tired of hearing me whine about baby names BUT if it’s a girl her name is definitely

Avery Bret

So thankful to be settled on this! This is HUGE off of my to-do list people! :)

And now we can have a baby!

Little Injury

It’s a fact Jack! Officer Hubby + dogs at work=bad news!

I was fresh out of the shower when Hubby arrived home from work Sunday morning. He came into our bathroom to change and was like, “got bit by a dog last night.” All nonchalantly, like it was no big deal. In fact, he was smiling. I swear cops are weird like that. They thrive off of stuff like this. Of course I’m like “WHAT????” And immediately I’m a little pissed that no one called me. He told them not to because it was “no big deal”. Um, you got ATTACKED by a dog Lover. Maybe that’s not such a big deal to call and wake your pregnant wife at 3:00am and I know that was what he was thinking BUT I AM TERRIFIED that something really will happen to him and no one will call me!

Anyway.

He was just backing up someone and was standing outside the residence. The officers inside had already petted the dog and he seemed safe. The dog came outside and was sniffing around, saw Josh and went for him! Bit him on his left leg first, tearing his pants. Hubby went to draw his gun and was going to kick at the dog and tripped over a concrete landscape block and fell to the ground. At which time the dog took a CHUNK out of his right leg. There was another officer outside and somehow got the dogs attention, I’m not going to even put on here how & off the dog went. Eight stitches later and he’s limping around like me! We looked like some 90 year olds for a day or so! Supposedly the dog is up to date on all of it’s shots, but that is being verified!

Officer Hubby is doing just fine! And, hey, this is only his second injury in almost 10 years to require medical attention so I think he’s doing pretty good! Besides, boys like battle wounds! haha!

33 Weeks!

DSC_0635 How far along: 33 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to the Pregnant Chicken

“Your baby is pretty close to being finished growing lengthwise, but it will do some serious beefing up over the next seven weeks. Many sites compare your baby to a pineapple now, which sounds like the most uncomfortable thing to be carrying in your body aside from maybe a ball of barbed wire and broken glass. Your soft, beautiful baby is around 17 inches long and about 4.5 lbs.”

If you are pregnant you should sign up for her weekly emails! She is super fun!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 31 pounds.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Meh. I was up all night Sunday night, then I slept really good a few nights.

Best moment this week: My nurse telling me I only gained 1 pound in two weeks! Haha!

Movement: All the time. Y’all know this! I really think this baby is long. We’ll see!

Food cravings/aversions: Bread. The insides of Panera bread to be exact!

Gender: Don’t know! BUT my little gender predicting nephew has said it’s a girl since the day he found out I was pregnant until today! Now he says boy! ;)

Labor signs: Nope.

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: An extra ultrasound in two weeks! The more I think about the “measuring big” thing the more I think the dr. just measured wrong. He was a student. But that’s ok because we’ll get an extra peek at the little one!

The Countdown is ON!

We are getting SUPER excited about the baby! 50 short days until my due date!

FIFTY!

So really in 40-something days we will have a baby! For real! A baby to love and hug and kiss and cuddle and smell and kiss it’s wittle nose and HOG! ;)

Can.Not.Wait!

So, we have this board in our kitchen. It’s like a cork board on crack. It’s huge. And it’s the perfect place to display the kids art work, etc. instead of it being on the refrigerator. Only thing is the boys don’t have a lot of art work that they are bringing home these days and I don’t want to just fill it up with Reece’s fabulous art. Cue a baby countdown, complete with paper chain! :)

20130219_18101420130307_070258 They take turns tearing off a link per day. I put the ultrasound pictures on there along with a few pictures that you’ve seen on here. The one from right after I told Josh, the one where we told the kids and the ones with their Big Brother/Big Sister outfits. It’s a fun little project to help keep the kids involved with how much longer we have to go!

In other news, I had a doctor’s appointment today. I have only gained a pound since I was there two weeks ago! YAY! At my last appointment, I was measuring a little ahead of schedule. Well today I was measuring a whole week AND a day ahead. I’ll be 33 weeks tomorrow and I’m measuring 34 weeks. When I go back in two weeks we’ll do an ultrasound to find out if it’s extra fluid or a big baby. Meanwhile, I am trying not to freak my freakin freak. Big baby? What the what? The other three were 7 pounders!

AND another ultrasound=another temptation to find out what the baby is! I will not cave but it will be hard! :)

32 Weeks!

DSC_0633

My sweet girl has the flu so she’s been with me at the office all week! Love my little helper!

How far along: 32 Weeks!

Size of the baby: According to Baby Center, baby weighs 3.75 pounds(like a large jicama-what?) and is about 16.7 inches long!

Total weight gain/loss: Up 30 pounds I’m sure. Haven’t weighed.

Maternity clothes: Yes.

Stretch marks: Old one.

Sleep: Um. I don’t know. It’s either good or it’s bad.

Best moment this week: Surviving! HA!

Movement: This part is SO fun! It looks like there’s an alien in my stomach trying to burst out! HAHA!

Food cravings/aversions: Nothing really. FOOD!

Gender: I’m leaning toward girl again!

Labor signs: Lots of Braxton-Hicks this week. I’m sure it’s from everything that’s been going on. My doctor warned me a week ago that this may happen since this is my fourth baby! He said they may even get as bad as making me feel like I am in true labor. Goody!

Belly button in or out: In.

What I am looking forward to: Sleep and rest tomorrow!

And here’s my 31 week picture since I didn’t get to post last Friday!DSC_0630
