The Sweetness that is Reece!

Our sweet baby girl is growing so fast! She is getting to be like the boys, I have to catch her for pictures!

LOVE this look.....

There's NOTHING like a little girl! :) Don't take that the wrong way, I LOVE my boys to pieces. She's just so much like me! A little mommy. She cleans, takes care of the boys, etc. SO fun!

In other news, my grandmother(Mom's mom) is in critical condition in ICU. We've been told that she is not going to make it. She's been very sick for a long, long time. She's suffering and it's time. I know death is part of the circle of life, blah blah blah. But that doesn't make things any easier. There's a little peace about it in me because I KNOW she is in SO much pain but my poor granddaddy is so upset. They've been married almost 57 years! That's love! Granddaddy's 78th birthday is tomorrow. Friday he plans to tell the doctors to start taking some things off of her and to make her real comfortable. She could live minutes or she could live a day or so. Please pray for my family as we go through this tough time.

Freakity Freak Freak Freak!!!!

I got a text picture from Josh yesterday afternoon.....

You probably can't tell from the picture because I couldn't either but, it's a freakin' rattlesnake! He killed it in my neighbors backyard right beside our fence! He shot it four times! I'm sure it didn't take that many, but you know how boys and their toys are! hee hee!

Here's it's fangs!

ahhhh!!!! That's too scary! The boys were outside playing and ran inside and told Josh that there was a snake out there! We(not we, Josh!) have killed two around our house since we've been there. The first one was a baby copperhead that came into the garage one night when Josh left for work. The other one was a baby rat snake that was squished by our garage door, remember?? This one, my friends, is by far the scariest! For Josh to use the pistol instead of a shovel should tell you that! He said it was a Timber Rattler. It had SIX rattles or whateveryoucallthem!

ughh!!!

Roll Tide, Baby! Roll Tide!

Want to know what 90,000+ dedicated fans look like?? Drowned rats. That's what we looked like! :) To say that Josh and I got soaked on our way to the game would be an understatement! But we weren't the only ones and it was SO worth it! We had a blast. We had perfect seats. It stopped raining just before the game started. AND, we rolled all over those hogs!
A few pre-game shots:
And....then we were soaked! So much for cute hair!
Just before the game we were standing inside the stadium out of the rain eating a snack when Josh looked at me like I was about to be freaked about something. He glanced at the door we were standing by...I looked up and saw this...
Ahhh...I'm telling you, they follow me just to freak my freak! The green one was about 3 inches long and the other two were about two inches. Oh my heavens! And I couldn't really freak out because there were people everywhere! Eww!
Just in case you missed the final score.....
Yep, I think THAT'S a spanking!

What's in a name?

Part of Peyton's homework last night was to talk with me and Josh and find out what his name meant, why he was named Peyton and something else but I forgot.

My heart sank when I read the assignment! Oh my! Do I tell him that we were still trying to name him while I was in labor????? Screeech! I can't tell him that, he'll think we didn't want him or something!

But really. We had a very hard time agreeing on his name. I don't know if it was because we had just and I mean just had Griffin or what but we couldn't seem to agree on ANYTHING! I had the baby name book with me when we checked into the hospital. NO, I'm not kidding! We finally decided to name him Joshua Peyton and call him Peyton. But I really wanted his first name to be what he went by(which is funny because we did that to Reece!) and Josh really liked the name Tyson. Yuck! All I can relate that too is Mike Tyson. Yuck, and um no. Not my child! So then we named him Peyton Tyler! For real, that's his name. But I really don't want to tell him that little story until he's older! For those of you who are pregnant and haven't decided on a name yet, doing it while you are in labor is the way to go, the hubby WILL NOT tell you no to anything! Works out perfect! ha ha!

So I dodged that question and looked up what his name means on the internet:

Peyton means Peacock Town.

WHAT?!?!? Now we've named him after some stupid town? Sigh.

And, for the record:

Griffin means Prince or Mythical God. (heck no, not telling him that! He really will think he's the king!)

Reece means enthusiastic! Very fitting!

Crazy Woman Driver!

Sooooo, I kind of ran into a person with my car this morning.

Now that I have your full undivided attention, let me back up and start from the beginning!

Reece didn't sleep so well last night. So I'm tired. Very tired. I managed to get up, get dressed, get all the kiddos up and dressed and fed, feed the cat, kick the cat because she kept biting my leg(not really kick her, just push her with my leg) and make it out the door on time! That's big people! I left my cell phone in the car last night so as I was pulling out of the driveway I checked my messages and text messages. There was one from Allison at 8:30 pm saying that she almost passed out at her childbirth class! I called her to get the scoop and to check on her while driving the boys to school. As she is telling her story I/we noticed and dog standing on the side of the road. He looked sad and hungry. There was a big dully truck in front of us and he swerved his truck toward the dog and tried to run the poor thing over! Griffin screamed and I came really close to saying something to the man. The nerve!

All that just got me into a tizzy! After I dropped Reece off, I was stopped at a traffic light on campus. I was going to make a right turn(AND I was in the turn lane!). I was watching the traffic to my left waiting for my chance to go...well, the time came and I let off my brake and turned my head back to the right when BAM! I hit a guy. I just bumped him, but you know that scared him to death! I tried to apologize but he just kept walking, never even looked up! I guess he knew he should have not been walking so close to the cars and it was obvious that I was turning right. I still feel bad. Poor guy, he probably peed in his pants!

Mommy Talk!

If you are a mommy, have you ever just sat back and thought about some of the things you have said? I make myself laugh....all. the. time.

"Pulllleaseeee tell me that you did not just show her your wiener! Good, because girls don't want to see those!"

"Oh Reece!!! Don't pick up the cat by the tail!"

"Peyton!!!!!!! If you do not start ringing the toilet....!!!!"

"I'm too scared to touch the giant bullfrog with my toe!"

And that's just from yesterday!

What's new with Kitty Kitty??

Blog slacker=me! I guess I've just been too busy to sit down and blog lately.

It's kind of weird to think that we've only had Angel for a couple of weeks. It really feels like she's always been around! She's about doubled in size AND attitude since we brought her home. But that's just how cats are. Josh is her very most favorite person, which only if she knew how bad I had to beg him for her!

She was asleep on the couch with him when I took this pic but she woke up when she heard the camera click....she was sleeping on her back, feet up!

Here she is on Reece's nap mat. I laid it across the kitchen table/chair to dry after it was washed and she made herself a hammock out of it! ha!

She found a nice, warm spot between a pregnant belly and boobs to nap and watch the Tide roll!

And just because our kids are the cutest on the planet, here are some pics of them!

When boys get a certain age, they no longer pose for pics! You have to sneak them......

Against my Religion!

Most of you that know me in real life know that I rarely and I mean rarely EVER let my kids have caffeine. It's unhealthy and it makes them whack! Especially with Griff having ADHD, it makes him a complete jittery mess. So, we don't give it to them. But, every once in a while I give in beacuse I'm a mommy and that's what we do!

Yesterday on the way home Baby Girl and I stopped by Taco Casa. Best Mt. Dew on the planet! I've said it before but if you don't live around here I really do feel sorry for you...because it's likely you don't have a Casa Casa(in the words of Griff) around you! As it turned out, Reece REALLLLLYYYYY wanted my Mt. Dew, so I gave it to her! I think she's happy with it, how about you??!
She's serious about it too!

Round Two

As it turns out, my measly two hour visit with Peyton to the doctor was cake compared to the 4 hours that Josh had with Griffin at the doctor! Same diagnosis. Same shot. But, apparently Griffin's shot hurt worse. Actually, he's just REALLY dramatic!

Josh had been up for 27 hours by the time they got home from the doctor. Have I mentioned that he is the best?? Needless to say, he crashed when he got home! About 4 hours after Griff got the shot I asked him to see where he got it. Well, there were about 4-5 little bug bite looking spots around it. So I thought he must be having some type of reaction to it. I called the doctor's office and after about 20 minutes they told me I was right and to just watch it. No more penicillin for him!

Supposedly if you are under the age of 2 you can't get strep throat. We are SOOOOOOO putting that theory to the test right now!

Talk about a "Labor" Day!

I sure hope ya'lls weekend was stress free, relaxing, care free and all that jazz. I hope your favorite team won their season openers. I hope your kids didn't drive you nuts. I hope you got plenty of extra rest on your day off.

'Cause we didn't.

Friday night was good. We hung out and I don't really remember that much of it.... until bedtime. Peyton was in the kitchen getting his 15th bedtime snack, we were in the living room watching TV when we heard the little man say, "My throat hurts." I won't tell you what motherly instinct said because it wasn't blog appropriate! He didn't have a fever and his throat didn't look red so we sent him on to bed.

The next morning he woke up and complained about it again. It still wasn't red and he still didn't have a temp. About 30 minutes later he was fine and said it didn't hurt. So, we went about our day, it rained and rained and rained, which left us stuck in the house. The day was pretty much uneventful, until about an hour before game time! He then started throwing up....puke, puke, puke, puke.....poor baby! He was so sick. At that point he couldn't swallow ANYTHING and was walking around with a cup to spit in, couldn't even swallow spit! I got some Motrin down him and he was out for the count.

Now for the game. That down right sucked. Too many penalties and too many stupid mistakes. Ahem, McClain...for one. I would hate to be on that team in practice this week. Saban's gonna get 'em! Don't get me wrong, I'm super glad that we won, but it made me a nervous wreck to watch! Griffin stayed up and watched the entire game with me. Sweetness. Josh had to work. :( Around 10:30 Griffin looked at me and said, "You see my eyes, you see the way they look right now?" I said, "um, yes." He said, "They only look like this in the morning! God gave me special powers to stay up late and watch the game!" HA! He is so funny!

Moving on.

Sunday morning rolled around after a lot of puking during the night. I decided our best bet was to be at Medsouth at around 12:15 so that we could be the first in line(they open at 1:00). I dropped Reece and Griffin off at Mom's around 11:45 and headed that way. I stopped by the gas station and got him a Gatorade. As I was driving I heard him gulping it in the backseat....I never even thought to tell him to sip it because he couldn't swallow! We pulled up at the doc's office and I opened the door for him to get out when he looked at me with a funny look and started puking EVERRRRYYYYWHERE! I had no extra clothes with me. Crap. He was covered. There were already 4 people in line. But, I had no choice but to run back home and change him(and grab an extra change of clothes this time!) So we did. By the time we got back we were the 11th person in line. Not so bad, but we were there until 2:45. Diagnosis: Strep Throat, the puking kind. No, really??

As soon as Josh's parents found out about Peyton being sick, they came and got the other two. So, I spent the rest of the day taking care of my sick baby and giving him my full attention. He slept alot and while he slept I scrubbed every inch of our house! I was really hoping that none of the rest of us would get it. Well at 3:00 this morning, I heard Griff in the kitchen,

"My throat hurts."

Ding ding ding, round 2...

ugh.

Ready to Roll with the Tide!

I love football season. It's fun to live in a college town where everything revolves around Alabama Football! Well, I say it's fun, let me rephrase and say mostly fun! The traffic and everything being crowded is not so much fun! It's this time of year that makes me thankful that Josh is no longer with TPD. He used to have to work terrible hours on home game weekends! If you see a cop at a home game, be nice to him or her! More than likely they've been at work since the day before!

Here are our future football players and cheerleader this morning! AND Kitty Angel, I hope she doesn't freak her freak when I start yelling at the TV during the game! :)
And here are us Bama girls at work today!
That's me, Mom, Pregnant Allison and Kim!
Have a fabulous weekend! Roll Tide!

If you can't say something nice....

....don't say anything at all!
Remember that from Bambi? Well, some people didn't listen! I sometimes am blown away by people and their rudeness. Those people always call themselves "blunt" or "to the point". I think they are just rude and annoying! This happens to me all the time, I mostly just brush it off, but it does get on my nerves.

Take for instance Monday....Reece was sick all weekend and so I took her straight in to the doctor's office Monday morning during walk-in hours. When you walk in, you don't get your choice of doctor. That's fine most of the time. An hour and a half passes and in walks the doctor...

knock knock knock...and in walks the doc
"Hello Mrs. C, Hello Reece! Man, you got a great name like Isabella and ya had to go with Reece."

(Reece's first name is Isabella.)

Excuse me? Did you help conceive her? Then it's not up to you what we call her!

I gave her a look and if my daughter hadn't been so sick I probably would have told her where to go!

So, if you're reading this, think before you speak...ALWAYS!

Meet Angel

Uh-huh. We got a sweet little kitty! I will be the first to admit that my husband spoils me! And I will be the first to admit that I let him. Because I like it!
