Well dang!

Short post. It's Thursday. I'm Busy.

I found out this morning that the class rolls for the upcoming school year were posted on the boys' school website. Peyton didn't get the teacher that Griff had last year. :( He still got a great teacher, but now we have to get to know TWO new teachers instead of just one! Better get used to that! And it looks like Griff got a brand new teacher...which I think may be a great thing! Only bad thing is, the school had to add five portable classrooms and of course the new teachers got them....so most likely, he'll be in a portable. ugh!

Pey's last day at preschool is tomorrow. He will have a week and a couple of days to have a nice break before school starts. I'm a little sad. I'm gonna be a train wreck the first day of school!

Our babies are growing up!!!!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. Did you see my tweet? Josh has an interview at TPD this morning! :) :) :)

This time I'm freakin' YOUR freak!

Here's a little story that I thought ya'll(yep, southern girl talk today!) would find interesting! Share it with your friends and family, especially those wild women you know. It comes from my friend Donna and I'm sure she would want me to share!

Donna's daughter(Vanessa) and her husband(Jeff) had some pictures taken at the beach last summer by a photographer that Jeff knew. He is in the insurance industry and so was this photographer-a woman. Recently Vanessa and Jeff had to go to some sort of insurance convention or something and the woman was there as well. She told them that they were not going to believe what happened to her since they last saw each other. Apparently, she was at the beach with a friend and met a man...I don't know if they met on the beach or in a bar or what...but she liked him and they were kissing on each other. He asked her to go home with him and she told him no and that she wasn't like that.

The next day or so she woke up with a rash around her mouth. She doctored it a few days and it kept getting worse. So, she went to the Dermatologist. He proceeded to ask her who she had been with. She told him the beach story. He asked where the guy lived and she told him that she didn't know, all she had was his name and phone number. The doc said that he needed both to give to the authorites! Come to find out, the rash she had on her face was some sort of flesh eating bacteria, THAT YOU ONLY GET FROM MESSING WITH DEAD PEOPLE. Sooooooooooooooooooo the authorites went to his house and found THREE dead women in there!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow, she would have been the fourth! And the flesh eating bacteria is fatal and would have killed her had she not gone to the doctor!

THAT my friends is just another reason not to be leaving the bar and going home with someone! ugh!

Told you I was gonna freak your freak!

It's Monday.

I really dislike Monday. I rush around like it's nobody's business...rush to get dressed, rush to get the kids dressed and fed, rush them to school, rush to work, rush around all day at work, rush to pick the kids up from school, rush home to get them fed and bathed, rush them to bed...gah, rush rush rush!

That's what I was thinking when I got to work. And then I checked on Stellan and had a reality check. I need to stop rushing and be happy to just have three happy, healthy children and a wonderful husband that I adore! So what if I have to rush around a little, that comes with the territory!

MckMama tweeted about an hour ago and said that her family was on the way to the hospital and that she didn't know what was happening. It really is not looking good for baby Stellan. And that really makes me sad. How can I feel so sad for someone I don't really "know", you ask? It all goes back to the blog family that I have talked about before!

So, my friends, today when I leave work I will rush to pick my babies up and I will give them plenty of extra love tonight!

Just call him....

On the way home yesterday afternoon I got the craving. If you live around here you'll know exactly what I mean....Taco Casa was calling my name! So, Peyton, Reece and I swung through the drive through.(I got in trouble with Brooke for eating it last night, she thought that meant I wouldn't eat it today when they have the sale...so wrong, I WILL be eating there again today!) While sitting in the drive though line here's my conversation with Peyton:

Peyton: Mommy, what's my nickname?
Me: PeyPey is what we mostly call you....
Peyton: NO, mom. WHAT'S my nickname?
Me: PeyPey!!!
Peyton: Well, I don't want that to be my nickname anymore!
Me: Why?
Peyton: 'Cause I don't.
Me: Ok, well what do you want your nickname to be?
Peyton: Cornbread.

I almost peed my pants!

Freak my Freak, take 4567

Remember this??? I'm telling you, they really freak me out! I seriously run when I see them! Allison was leaving the office today and she called me from the parking lot and told me to "Come quick!" I don't know about you but when a pregnant lady says, "Jump." I run! So I did. And this is what she had to show me....
Look right there on the power line.....Yep, they're making more! I almost had a heart attack. Almost.

Birthday Parties!

I love birthday parties! Especially when they are for my babies! Kelly is hosting a blog carnival today for birthday parties, so if you want to join in, head on over to her blog!

I thought about doing all three kids first birthday parties, but then decided that may be just a tad overwhelming! So, since Reece is the youngest and her party was only about 7 months ago, I'm doing hers!

With her being our only little girl, you know the party was full of pink! I didn't do a theme. After all, I have learned that this will be the only birthday that I get complete sayso over what theme to use! I'm a lover of pink and brown, her nursery is pink and brown...so was her party! You'll notice Christmas decorations in the background...her birthday is December 20th! She was the best present EVER!

She wore a cute pink and white tutu with a onesie that had her name and the number one on it....
Oh and with a crown on her hiney!!

Here was the set up in the kitchen complete with a tiny Reece hospital picture!
Reece's cake
I really wanted a three tier cake...but I couldn't make myself pay that much for a cake!
This one is just as cute...1/2 the price!

She LOVES her brothers!

And her Auntie Al.
And me! ha!
By this point, she was tired, sugared up and the tutu was gone!
Cake kisses for mommy...
...and Daddy!
She really didn't get all that messy with her cake...she prefers not to be dirty...she's dainty, what can I say?! I didn't even have to give her a bath when she was done with her cake!

Opening presents...
With her birthday five days before Christmas it's kind of hectic. We did her party on her birthday this year because it was the first. From now on, I refuse to let it get caught up in Christmas and we will be celebrating it on Josh's birthday, December 2nd! :)

Busy!

At our house we have a pretty strict nightly routine. We have to or there would just be mass chaos! Most of the time things run smoothly. But, if one of us(me or Josh) has something to do and leaves the other.......it leaves the other scrambling! Case in point, last night. The hubs had court..not fun. When I got home after picking everyone up...P and R=school; G=MiMi's....I tried to get everyone to eat...not one of them would. I gave up and gave Reece her bath and sent the boys to their bathroom to do the same. Reece tried to poop in the tub, nice. The boys were watching cartoons(instead of taking a bath) when I was finished with her bath. So I again told them to take a bath and threatened a you know what! That worked! Once everyone started cooperating, it was a fun night! Peyton played on the computer.....
Griffin ate popcorn(AFTER he finally ate supper!).....
And Reece stood right here and talked to the dogs!
No, she didn't wear those red flip flops...those are Peyton's!!

And while all of this was going on...I made this yummy dip...oh it's so good!!!!! There is nothing like watching Alabama football and eating this dip! I'm so ready for football season... ROLL TIDE!!
Ingredients:
1 Can of chicken, drained
1/2 cup of sour cream
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
Hot Sauce-I've used different ones, it always taste better with Texas Pete!
2-3 cups of shredded cheddar

And you'll need Tortilla chips for dipping!

Preheat the oven to 350. Mix the cream cheese and sour cream together in a 8x8 baking dish. Mix in the chicken...I leave it kind of chunky. Cover the top with the hot sauce...use as little or as much as you want! It'll look kind of like this....
Then you cover the top of that with the cheese...again, you can use as little or as much as you want! Pop it in the oven for about 20 minutes and try not to eat it all at one time! :)

Not Me! Monday

Don't you just love Not Me! Monday?!?! Scooch on over to MckMama's and play along!

I actually don't have alot of Not Me's for this week. I'm not sure if I just can't think orrrrrrr if I really didn't do anything crazy! ha!

I probably should have saved this for next week's Not My Child Monday....but I am SURE I will have tons for that post!

Yesterday, when Miss Reece was helping me cook brownies she totally did not almost freak out when I almost forgot to give her the bowl and spoon to lick. That would not mean that I let my children do that regularly. And Miss Priss does not almost always get her way so without further ado, I will let you see for yourself!!!

Family Planning

At Bunco last week we were talking about babies, being pregnant and some girls were talking about when they planned to start having babies. One of the girls mentioned that sometimes things just don't go as planned and I smiled....because we all know we've had two surprises, so far :) I have the most children out of everyone in the group and one of the girls asked how old we were when we started having kids. 20!!! We were 20!!! Man, that's young! I then proceeded to tell her that Peyton was actually our biggest surprise.(at least it was for me, maybe the hubby will weigh in on that one...can't get him to blog for nothin'!) I told the story and thought, "That's going on the blog!"

Griffin was 6 months old or so and had gone to bed for the night. My neck was hurting(old cheerleading injury that has stuck) and so I took a Lortab and planned to sleep really well! Not. So. Much. I puked all night long. Every hour, on the hour, I was throwing up. It was terrible. I stayed home the next day from work and Josh took Griff to daycare. All throughout the day I felt terrible. Finally that afternoon I told Josh to take me to the emergency room because I was pretty sure that I was dehydrated. My entire body was throbbing with pain and I couldn't be still...I had to be moving around constantly. When I walked through the emergency room doors I guess you could tell I needed immediate attention and I was rushed to the back. The nurse put my IV in and started giving me fluids...right after she took some blood! I was then pumped full of pain medicine and off to sleep I went. After a nice long nap and a full bag of fluids I was feeling much better. Josh left the room for some reason or another and meanwhile the doctor came in....with TWO nurses.(I guess they thought I might pass out from what they were about to tell me!)

Doctor: "Mrs. C, the other Dr. decided that since you have been throwing up so much he would go ahead and do a pregnancy test. You said that you had a period about 3.5 weeks ago, right?"

Me:"Yes."

Doctor: "Well the test came back positive!"

Me:"Ummm...WHAT?!?! But I have a 6 month old!!!"
One of the nurses looked at me and said, "It will be fine, the same thing happened to me and look at my two girls!!" And she showed me a picture of them.

Me:"Ummm...my husband is out in the hall somewhere....please go find him and send him in here NOW!"

A few minutes later Joshy Poo walked in the room. I had an enormous smile on my face and he looked at me puzzled.

Me: "I'm pregnant!!"
Josh:"AGAIN??!!"

hahahahaha! It's so funny now, but at the time, we were really not sure what the heck was going on! And for the record, I was on birth control pills....they ARE only 99% effective!

And 9 months later we were holding this sweet little man.....

Crazy, Literally

Today has been one of those days for me as a momma. These children have driven me nuts today. My bouts of insomnia the past few nights have added up and I am pooped. Now that Reece is finally sleeping pretty well, I can't. Go figure. Let me stop right here and remind you of how blessed I know I am and how much these babies mean to me. I love them more than anything and I think you can tell that from my blog. With that said, my blog makes everything look all peaches and cream sometimes.....and it ain't! I have days just like anyone else! Take today, for instance, Griffin has been aggravating all of us...to the point that I have contemplated running away.(not really, but it sounded good!) He could aggravate a fly I tell you! Grr! You have no idea! Not only that but he has not been minding today and he keeps smarting off which has caused I can't even tell you how many spankings, time outs and eventually a pop in the mouth. He has gone all summer without being on his medication, but he is about to start back. Ohhhhhh...and he kicked Peyton in the package!!!!! Peyton hasn't been that bad, just hasn't minded a few times. Reece is good too, she just likes to get into stuff like a normal 18 month old, but that mixed with Griff acting this way is no fun. She IS screaming in my ear at the moment because I am ignoring her and typing this! I made a yummy cake to take to my in-laws tomorrow and of course it stuck to the pan! I just laughed when that happened, things are comical at this point! As I sit here typing this I am drinking a big fat glass of wine and the bottle may just be gone by the time Josh wakes up! ha!

Here is the recipe for the cake, I stole it from my mom a long time ago!

Ingredients:
Cake:
1 box Duncan Hines Butter Recipe cake mix
1 11oz. can mandarin oranges-undrained
1/2 cup veg. oil
4 eggs
Icing:
1 20oz. can crushed pineapple-undrained
8 oz. sour cream
6 tablespoons of sugar
Box of Jello Cheesecake Mix-the little kit that makes a cheesecake, you will just use the filling mix out of the box
8 oz. cool whip

Preheat oven to 325. Grease two 8 or 9 inch cake pans. Mix your cake ingredients together with a mixer. You may want to kind of chop the oranges up a little first, makes it easier! Pour even amounts into your cake pans and bake for about 30 minutes. Let cakes cool completely.

For the icing, mix the first four ingredients together first and then add in the cool whip. Layer your cakes and don't forget to put icing in between them! Refrigerate overnight.

Don't worry about me, I'll be fine! It's days like today that I say, "NO MORE BABIES!" But I am sure I will change my mind tomorrow!
xoxo
