Baby Emery

Yesterday my friend, Rissie, had a sweet sweet baby GIRL!! I’m so excited for her. You really have no idea how sweet it is to have a little girl until you have your very own mini-me! :)

She didn’t find out the sex of the baby until SHE(heehee) was born! It was SO MUCH FUN! And it clarified for me that that is for sure what we will be doing next time around! We actually decided that way a long time ago when Reece was a baby. Don’t go thinking we’re doing it because everyone else is. Um no. April and Josh do what they want to do if you haven’t figured that out by now! HA!

She got everyone to wear pink or blue, whatever your choice was to the hospital.197737_10151253429879922_1430272020_n

I wanted it to be a girl so bad that I convinced myself it was a boy! :) Reece was right!

Here she is!Photo: Oh boy... Nate was right SHE's here!!! Emery Chase Martin !!!! http://instagr.am/p/MYtg_6gemI/

And, yes, I know you wish you looked that good after giving birth! Seriously?! Hospital gown made by our fabulous friend, Donna, who is the bomb.com!

Seeing her(already three times, oops!) has put me into full blown baby-making mode! Hubs is not complaining! :)

Boys, Boys, BOYS!

I have learned A LOT from having two boys, 15 months apart. Boys are so different.

GP

I feel like I get this exact look from Griffin and Peyton at least 4580 times a day! You know, like they’re pissed at me! Probably because they are. They’ve been having a lot of fun at summer camp, but it wears them OUT. So they don’t want to get up in the morning and they are ill hornets when I go to pick them up.  It’s like there’s a nest of hornets in my car every.single.afternoon. I’m always in a rush in the mornings now because we have to leave so early to get everyone where they’re supposed to be. Hubs isn’t there to help most mornings because he’s still at work.

But he was home this morning!

And Griffin ended up in big trouble with him! (not minding)

So. Before we loaded up in the car I told Griffin to make sure he had his waters for the day.(They have to take three drinks a day) While we were on the interstate I asked if he got his water. “No, Dad made me too mad so I didn’t have time.” I didn’t say anything because it would have not been nice. So I just thought to myself, “Guess you’ll be thirsty today.”

We went on and I got everyone to their places and went on to work. Once I got settled I felt bad that he didn’t have anything to drink. It’s hot as blazes here so I decided to run some bottled water to him. I arrived at summer camp and the kids weren’t in the same room where their lunch boxes are so I just pulled his out and opened it up to put the drinks in and…

The little turd DID have water.

Daddy’s Princess

It’s no secret that Reece LOVES her Daddy a whole lotta lot! He is wrapped around her pinky where I’m sure he will stay forever! I think he has her wrapped around his too. If she gets in trouble(which is VERY rare) and he happens to be the one who needs to discipline, all he has to do is look at her and she cries! One time he had to spank her, it’s been a few months ago, and I literally laughed out loud because it was more like a pat. It still got the point across but it was just funny to see his face. He reallly didn’t want to! HA!

For Father’s Day she made this little thing at school where you fill in the blanks with things about your Daddy. Here is hers. Her answers are in italics and underlined.

My Daddy’s name is Josh.

He weighs 100 pounds and is 8 feet tall.

His hair is black and his eyes are green.

He loves to cook eggs and bacon.

His favorite household chore is work.

His favorite TV show is football.

Daddy always tells me he loves me.

It makes him happy when we go to the beach.(AMEN!)

I really love it when my dad and I go to the gym.(HA HA!)

He’s the best! I love you Dad!

Cock-a-doodle-doo!!

Well as it turns out we have a rooster! Oops! DSC_0374

His name has been Alvin all along because when he was little he looked like a chipmunk! So I guess it’s fitting he turned out to be a he!

I kind of thought he might be a rooster. You could tell he was in charge for a while now but then that comb started getting bigger. I still wasn’t sure and then Friday when I got home he had those gorgeous tail feathers and then there was no doubt! He is going to be very pretty when he is full grown. Those dark feathers shimmer with a green tint in the sun.

He doesn’t crow…yet.

He doesn’t have spurs…yet.

The first time he is mean to the kids or to me he is dinner!

But not really. Maybe someone else’s dinner.

Yes we will still have eggs that we can eat. They may be fertilized but that doesn’t matter as long as you gather them up pretty quick before that hen goes to sitting! :)DSC_0376

Close up, anyone?

Birchbox #3!

Here’s what Birchbox #3 had for me!!20120613_152750 20120613_163933 I was sold on the band-aids! HA!! Reece thinks she needs a band-aid every 2.2 seconds. There’s also a lip and cheek stain, which Reece has already taken over, tinted moisturizer, eye compresses, I forgot what’s in the blue tube and a Birchbox Men’s sample for Joshy.

Hope your weekend is fantabulous!!

Go Lucy Go!

I told you about this sweet little girl about a year and a half ago. Most of you probably know about Lucy by now. She finished up her cancer treatments in like November and the cancer was gone. Which was a miracle! But, sadly, the cancer is back. And there’s nothing the doctors can do at this point. She’s a very sick little girl. Right now she has some sort of infection that is causing her to be very sick. They are just trying to get her better so that they can take her home to spend whatever time they have left with her. Please pray for Lucy, she needs a miracle!

Freak my Freak Take 975.2

Josh was riding along cutting our grass yesterday when out of the corner of his eye he saw something wiggle. He looked down to see half of a rattlesnake hanging out from under the lawn mower. He quickly jumped off and pinned it with a tire and ran inside to grab a gun.20120606_171945 20120606_172253 That joker was 4 feet long! I can not believe it didn’t bite him before he ever saw it! So thankful it didn’t because he was home alone!!

It really racks my nerves because the kids are always outside playing. They know to watch for snakes but they sure blend in well with their surroundings!
