New Farm Babies{AGAIN!} and an Adoption Update!

Last Wednesday was an exciting day around our house! When I arrived home from work Josh was feeding all of the animals so Brooks and I went to "help"! I noticed something about Trixie, one of our pygmy goats, that may indicate she would have a baby soon! (Trying to keep it PG here!) We weren't even 100% that she was pregnant and if she was we thought it would be a while because she wasn't very big at all. Last time she had babies, back in July 2015, she was huge! After being around her for a few minutes I realized that what I saw only indicated that she had already had a baby. They were not in sight, so I just KNEW I was going to walk around the goat yard until I found a dead, stillborn baby goat. :(

I went to their little goat house and peeked inside and didn't see anything...then I looked over to the right and there was a tiny little black baby sleeping! Then I looked a little further and saw another little tan baby sleeping! EEKKSS! SURPRISE! I scooped them up and all the kids and the hubs came running to see!

This is one of the older ones that was born in January, but I just love this picture of him with Reece! He's the best little goat! He loves to be held or just sit in your lap!

And now for a not so great adoption update.

We received an email Friday that the home study agency that we were using has had their Hague Accreditation put on hold and we need to switch home study agencies. This means nothing to you, I know. But for us, it's huge. Our first big bump in the road. I've done A TON of paperwork that now has to been redone and some other things that will have to be redone. It's all very time consuming and now to start over? UGH!

We were overwhelmed by everyone's support when we made our announcement! Everyone is excited and that makes me even more excited! :)

We're Adopting!

We are super excited to share our news...

We are adopting a little girl from China!!

We feel like the Lord has called and we are simply saying, "YES!" I'll blog more as I have time but we really thought our family was complete with our four awesome kiddos! Apparently, He had other plans all along! haha!

We've spent the past year praying and researching and finally feel like it's time. We started the process in January and we are in the beginning stages of our home study! I might as well be pregnant because I am a nesting MACHINE right now. If it doesn't bring me joy, it's gone! haha!

Please pray for us! It's very overwhelming, especially when you also have 4 children to care for. There's paperwork, paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork. Classes, classes and more classes. SO.MUCH.TO.DO.

And, you know me, gotta make it a little more complicated than it already is. We are taking all 4 kids with us to China! (By the way, they are super excited to have a new little sister, especially Reece!) There are several reasons for this...for one, I can't be away from my babies for that long. I.WOULD.DIE. Second, we want them to be there for that moment when we pick her up...I want them to be able to experience that. Third, I really think it will be easier on the little girl we adopt to have other children around her because that's what she will be used to. Fourth, not many people can say they have been to China! What an awesome thing to be able to do! There are many more reasons but those are the main points!

So, how can you help?

It's EASY! We are funding our adoption mostly through flipping houses! If you see me, Josh or my sister post a house for sale on Facebook...SHARE IT! :) That will help us sell the houses! The more times they are shared, the more people will see them and the faster we will sell them!

Also, we will be having a t-shirt fundraiser very soon! We want a party at the airport when we return home and want all of our peeps matching in a super cool shirt we have designed! :)

We know it's going to be SO worth it when we have her in our arms and can kiss her sweet cheeks!

New Farm Babies!

On Sunday, January 10th, our Foxy girl gave birth to two of the most precious little baby goats you ever did see! We were leaving for church and had been on baby watch for a couple of weeks! As we were going down our driveway the hubby saw them first! Reece and I bailed out and ran down to meet the new babies, who were super freshly born!

I love baby goats! Almost as much as baby humans! :)

Their names are Sweet Pea and Peanut Butter Cup and they are both boys!

It was a super cold day so right after church I snuggled them up in my jacket while the Hubby got a heat lamp set up for them!

                           

They are both pretty tame, just like their momma, but the little black one is SUPER sweet! He just wants to be held anytime we are down there...and he kisses you on the cheek!
